BoOmKiKi ~ one word to rule them all

Last Sat

Had netball carnival at Kallang Netball Centre. Got horrible sunburn there because we played from 8am to 12 plus in noon. Got into the second round, but then lost double knock out after that. Seniors took 4th in the carnival, got trophies and everything. We stayed until 6.45 to watch the seniors get their trophies, and then tried to get home after that. Kallang is a horrible place to find your way home from. We tried to walk our way out of it, but after 20 minutes we reached KFC where we started out. We'd, for some reason, made a big round around there. This time we took the bus. Sat at the bus stop for close to 40 mins waiting for a suspiciously-not-existant bus. 4 others went home in Nafisah's dad's car. Then we saw Natalie and Xueling come out of KFC. x_x After that, 3 others took a taxi. Wanted to get the taxi to drive us to the nearest MRT station, but they said they were in a rush and couldnt afford to waste any time. Thus Jin Ning, Xueling and Nat and I were left at the bus stop waiting. After an eternity, Bus 16 finally came. The bus was packed with people but I would sooner die than wait for another bus. Squeezed our way up. Jody and Debra came running out of McDonalds' just in time to catch the bus... Was wondering if the bus could take all our weight while standing on said bus.

We were supposed to reach Orchard MRT station or something like that, but we ended up outside Suntec instead. I suppose it was because we were all very excited to see something that would lead us to the MRT so we scrambled down the bus. Walked through the whole of Suntec City and Citibank Mall (i didnt even know such a mall existed), following all those plaques hung above your head pointing out where the MRT was. I swear they make the places so big to make us all thirsty and tired so we could sit down at one of those temptingly comfortable cafes to ease our feet and quench our thirst. Got to City Hall MRT station at the very last. All elated.

Following Days

Lived with horrible sunburn on forehead, cheeks, nose, neck, arms and legs. I can only say that it is amazing how not a single of us remembered to bring/apply sunblock on that day. Looked like a lobster.

Sunburn started to ruin my skin. Skin started to peel on nose. Eagerly helped the dead skin separate from my nose. There was this light piece of skin in the middle of my nose compared to the rest of the reddish skin, but not really noticeable becaus i wear specs.

One day at school i couldnt withstand the temptation and peeled the skin on my forehead. Walked around the rest of the day looking like an idiot with one patch directly in the center of my forehead light coloured while the rest of my forehead was coffee-ish coloured. Went home and peeled off more skin until it looked better. Unfortunately couldnt peel off everything because they were not 'ripe' enough. Had this weirdly shaped white patch on my forehead, but it was better than the previous.

Friday

X-COUNTRY RUN DAY!! No school ^___^ It was held at Sentosa. I felt sick on the bus ride there. Gave me a splitting headache. To make things worse, I had a cough and sore throat, and my voice sounded shitty.

At Sentosa, it was sand, sand and more sand. We did everything on sand. Ran on sand, ate on sand, sat on sand. Everything was put on sand. Sand got into my bag, got into my shorts, got stuck to my legs. Blearghx.

X-Country run totally un-fun. Last year's boardwalk was much better =) There was nice scenery. This time it was like running of pathways. No gan jue. Hmph.

After run the frisbee team practised frisbee (I've never played frisbee in my entire life yet i'm the captain of the frisbee team. I mean, hello? I totally prefer ball to frisbee... at least you can control where the ball goes, and no wind'll ever change the direction of your throw) on the sand. Barefooted because all games had to be played barefooted (ta ma de...) on the boiling hot sand. Me found out a way to keep your feet cooler was to dig a hole in the sand to get to the moisture-r sand and plant your feet on it... Breakthrough hor? =D

The day was stinky scorching. Good thing i slathered myself with sunblock...

Practice must have paid off because we (Kum Boon, Jin Jun, Gang Quan, Sasa, Nicky and me) won our first match against 2/8. The original team was supposed to be KB, Sasa, Nicky, JJ, Faris, Amy, Chen Yiling and me, but Faris had his friday prayers so Sasa went into take his place, and at the beginning of the match that sickening Mr Yeoh saw our number of girls and boys and was like, you gotta have 3 boys, and i was like, 1 of them couldnt make it, and he was like very happy (I am not even kidding!!!!!!!) say, then i'm sorry, it's a walkover, and i was like HORRIFIED (i'd won the toss, we would be serving first and he wants a WALKOVER??????????????) saying, but if the guy couldnt make it, then a girl reserve can take his place what! The reserve listing allowed the reserve to be either a female or male! Then he was like, no no no no, you have to have 3 boys and 3 girls, and JJ was like, we were not informed of it, and one of us said, well what if we went to get a guy to play, could it be allowed, and he was like, certainly, but make it quick, so we sped off running, GET US A GUY! A GUY!!! And thank God Gang Quan happened to be near us so he went in and Amy and Chen Yiling went out.

Everyone was damn excited when we won because 2/7 had lost all our first rounds of Tag and Beach Soccer. We proceeded to beat 1/1 in the second match.

Third match was against 2/3. Because of time constraint, the first team to score a goal wins. It was a longer game compared to the rest because the frisbee kept travelling from one end to another. Finally, Jin Jun threw a far throw to Nicky and HE CAUGHT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US AND THE SUPPORTERS FROM 2/7 WERE LIKE SCREAMING OUR LUNGS OUT... Hugging and ^5-ing everyone.

Our next match would decide if we won or lost the Lower Sec Frisbee Finals... it was against 2/5. Also first team to score first win. 2/5 served first because they won the toss (i picked heads for all the 4 games... the games were heads, tails, head, tails...). In less than 30 seconds they'd sailed the frisbee into their catcher's hands. It was so FAST. We never got to touch the frisbee. Everyone was sad... haiz.

After the whole trip ended we walked our way out of Sentosa. Firstly we walked out of Tanjong Beach to Ficus Station where we took the monorail to the arrival centre or something. Instead of taking a BUS out, we walked all the way across the bridge. Do you know how LONG it was? Because my right toes hurt, i stopped several times to inspect my feet by yanking out my sock and shoe, thus Faris, KB and Amy were far ahead of the Yixuan, Sasa, Jin Ning and Jia who stopped to wait for me. The above 3 never noticed an entrance to the Harbour Front MRT station in the side of the white fencey walls there to separate the construction areas from pathways, because there was a CLOSED sign there (?? weird), but we went in to inspect it and discovered it was OPEN. The 3 were already far ahead of us, but as we thought they would reach the same place anyway, but they didnt because they'd got to McDonalds somewhere out there, and we wanted to go to Compass Point to eat KFC ^^ So we went our separate ways. Took the LRT for the first time (weeeeeeee!) to Sengkang and then ate at KFC. Yeah, Then took 965 home (Jia, 159 CAN be taken from the bus interchange!!! The bus stop is located next to 965 stop).

Tiring day... (did i mention i borrowed 12 discs of Westside Story from Jia? Wahahaha. Oh yah, and I got sunburnt on my cheeks and forehead again.)
