Today brought back all the feelings of the past year.

Doing banner, yeah.

I REMEMBERED HOW MUCH I HATED IT THEN!!!! -_____-''

Paint everywhere. My pinafore also kana, but Amy got the spots out with thinner quick. =) Good Amy.

Lemme start at the start of the day first... ok, the english oral was totally rubbish. I was there praying and praying it wouldnt hit me (sharmilah was on to 5 and Crystal, who was 6, was absent, so it fell on me) but it DID and i was the last pupil to get tested. The good thing is that i can quit 'worrying' (not that i ever did much, but i totally should have), but the bad thing is that i am so going to fail my english oral... i was absolutely freaky... the picture conversation (have i ever mentioned that i suck at pic description?) was bull, there were 2 people at a fast food restaurant, one guy serving the other, how long do you want me to talk?? Jenna also zhen shi de! I was only halfway through describing the first person i saw when she finished with ms sharmilah!!!! And i totally talk crap crap crap when i was doing the pic!!!!!! I totally blanked out at the conversation.... AHHHHHHHHH THE HORROR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was TALKING RUBBISH... I WAS TALKING RUBBISH!!!!!!!!!!!! Then Ms Sharmilah was like "try not to use so many yahs, because this is an eng oral" and i was like, "erm, ok, yah"... I CANT HELP IT!! When i get nervous i well punctuate my sentences with erms, yahs, etc etc... she told me to calm down like 5 times. I wasnt really THAT nervous. I was kinda numb when i finished the oral also. Then reality kinda SANK IN as i walked into the class and i was like OH GOD and i started crying. But it wasnt because i was very afraid or something... i think i was just shocked? -______-''

Lit test... i thought it was rather easy. Lit is just crapping. i can crap SO well. But who knows if Heryanti likes my crap or not...

Then end of school at 12.30 (i LOVE fridays) and we had lunch and started on the freaky banner... it started badly because nobody knew what to do and everyone's nerves all frazzled etc and kinda snapped at people... me i think. >.< Anyway we started at like 1.45pm and ended at 6.30pm... but we got like only half of the freaky banner done. No actually i think it's less than that. It looks quite nice presently. We based the design on the gui tu sai pao (tortoise and the hare) story... with a tortoise at one end and the rabbit at the other, and we have a path in between them (trying to fill up 10m aint no joke buddy) with the words 2/7 ALWAYS ALIVE on the path... we've painted the tortoise and ending road, half of the grey path and also the always alive... Quite nice really. The cloth is 10m long and bright orange by the way =D

Through the process of painting i totally learnt how to make different colours... especially brown... ling wo zhong shen nan wang... sure, one could just dump all colours together and SOMEHOW, there'll be brown, but jenna darling tried black with yellow *falls down*, red, yellow and white (which really turns out to be light orange) and some other assortments before arriving at something resembling brown ^_^

Anyway, we totally messed up the canteen floor. Also, some idiot didnt close the lid of the green paint yesterday, so today we found out the green paint had emptied out onto the floor of the plastic bag... and totally eating its way through. The whole canteen was a disaster... like my hands. Like everyone else's hands. All of us could 'hold' something without holding at all... the paint did all the work. I could even hang a paint brush off my finger because of how bloody sticky the paint was. (seriously... anyone up for sticky-free paint?) Amy kept grumbling about how my hands were fake because she had to clean them for me (i couldnt hold anything!! tissue paper simply separates in my sticky fingers. PLUS, the disgusting canteen girls toilet's sink was flooded) and boy, what a horrid job. Most of the paint was black and white matted together (so when you pull your fingers apart you get some kinda la mian effect) and everywhere on my freaky fingers... and there was a lack of thinner (some girl from 3/2 borrowed from us and emptied out more than half of the original thinner WASHING THE CANTEEN FLOOR... we had to dilute the thinner left with water ourselves... god..) so everyone had to ration it... lalala...

Today Jia Ru, Divek and Wei Mun gave me bday gifts!!! (For those who still dont know when my birthday is, get lost right now as, what, you are at my personal blog and still you dont know when i was born!!!!!!!?) Jia Ru gave me Ferrero Rocher mmmm DIvek gave me a bunny rabbit i named Biore =) (after the 3 day trial package from the grooming workshop neh) and Wei Mun gimme Rou Gu Cha (bak put teh) which is a cute cute cute little puppy beanbag stuffed in a cute cute basket and which Lijie happily named ru gu cha but whatever yah I am expecting gifts from Jiajia and Sasa, Nicky, Kum Boon, Lijie they all on MONDAY!!! (they'd better or else...)

Will stop blogging now. yeah.

Ok, so i didnt fail the test. I passed. Right on the dot.

On Friday we went to support our B div bball team at the National Basketball Champs Finals at Jurong Sports Hall. Playing against Singapore Chinese Girls. We settled down, the players took their positions. Then i realised what Mr Neo was talking about when he said the SCGS girls can scream, and the reason why the school forced the whole Sec 2 cohort to go support the game...

I heard this shrill, ear-piercing, ear-deafening thing which was the product of all the voices of the 500 SCGS females. All Andersonians totally covered their ears. I suspect there are a lot of fans who support 5566 or S.H.E or something and they always go and peng their concert the chang that's why now got so much power...

The game started lah... I got caught up in the spirit of things. Never knew how much force my voice held. Screamed myself silly in the game. Our side also very the stupid: we sang the school song, did the school cheer, did kallang wave (back and forth a few times some more -______-'') lalalala... oh well.

It was the most exiting game i'd ever watched lor... well... we wanted so bady for us to win... we were leading in the first and second half... but in the third quart we were slacking... SCGS caught up... overtook us... and maintained the lead. So they won lah. We placed national second.

I'm not being biased here... but the umpire was. I'm not trying to hold up for Anderson. I'm telling like it is... i saw one of our team roll over with the basketball... and this SCGS girl collide into her. But the umpire decided who got the ball with a toss up lor... what crap.

Syafiqah very emotional behind us... keep scolding SCGS bad language... Nicky also got influenced but because he cannot say bad words he say mild things like bloody. I think SCGS played well... it was our own fault because we slipped in the third quart... Haiz.

It was raining before the game finished... we were nice and dry inside. Then we went out to find out buses and got drenched. We went on 2 buses before we found the correct one taking us back to anderson... the previous ones were to bring the sec 4s to Nanyang Poly for their NAPFA 2.4... my god it was so cold in the bus with us soaking wet... -___________________-''

Yesterday Letch, Amy, Sasa, Jia and Jenna came to my house, supposedly to do the Geog project. Letch, Jenna and Jia all woke up late. The surprising Vanessa Liu was there half hr before the scheduled time... Jia went on her own to my house. Suffering from migraine still go. Aiyo.

At Yishun library very jiat lat. Nothing much on wet rice cultivation. The first time I understood fully how small Yishun library is. Got 4 books anyway. Went home for lunch. Then everyone but Jenna and Jia went to Woodlands library to try our luck. Worse there. The library so big but we didnt find ANYTHING there. Got scolded thrice by 2 people. Once was this indian security guard who scolded us in the reference section (it was like a tomb inside. I couldnt even breathe normally) because the first time he scolded us (letch, amy and sasa) we somehow never listen and the second time he scolded us (me, letch and amy) he asked in this really rude tone if his words fall on deaf ears and whatever whatever... so ma lu.... haiz...

Reference section totally useless. I didnt even know got books on diseases which affect plants.

Then we met lijie (with a new hairdo) and her labrador group in the children's section... left after a while... then because i forgot i left my bag behind Sasa volunteer to go back and take for me... so we were like waiting at the bottom of the escalator for her... then this green female pig came and asked "would you like to share your joke with me?" (coz stupid Letch was laughing at how stupid i was) and i was like telling her about my bag and she was like saying we were blocking the escalator (look who's blocking it NOW) and going "so you're leaving now?" and i was like "yah" and she was like "ok so why dont you all go now?" and i was like thinking oh whatever and saying sure sure and we went off... the sheer audacity of her... we were NOT blocking the escalator we WERE NOT WE WERE NOT WE WERE STANDING AT THE SIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have enough common sense to stand ASIDE for people to pass ok?? And the point is NO ONE WAS COMING DOWN THE 4TH FLOOR SO WE WERE NOT BLOCKING ANYTHING!!!!! My God i wanted to SMACK her... Her size alone made up 2 of US k?? Who's blocking what NOW?

Then Letch and Amy went back to my house to get their bags while Sasa went home straight (she didnt bring anything)... so the 2 of them were supposed to go home to do hw or something but we stood at the door crapping for one and half hr... bitching about people and laughing and lalala... hehe so fun =) At around 6.30 they went home.. yep.

Mrs Kamal gives the suckiest projects... who needs pointillism?? And i dont want the "training up your willpower" rubbish again...

I am so 100% going to fail my maths test -_____-''

Yesterday we went on a field trip to Labrador Park.. ended up as an early dinner for the mosquitoes. It seems that everywhere I go I end up as dinner for the mosquitoes. I get bitten by the pests that hover under my computer table trying to sneak in a nip. Gawd.

The whole point is not really the field trip (hello, i got covered with cicada pee. I mean, what do you want?) but the trip back to school. Right here i want to reinforce this point: 2/7`04 ROX ROX ROX ROX ROX WE ROCK!!!!!!!!

To cut a long story short:
It started out with Faris hosting America's Next Top Model and it was just a small group of us, when the game got wilder and he dragged in everyone else and the whole class was like laughing and talking together and we were playing Who Stole The Cookie From The Cookie Pot and singing ABCDEFG blah blah and everything but the whole POINT is that we did EVERYTHING TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We were so UNITED, i felt so PROUD to be in 2/7 when I saw the few kids from the other classes glancing at us... it's like i dont think any class DANCES in a bus with practically EVERYONE standing up and kneeling in the seats right???

hey, if we're so united, it shouldnt be THAT hard to get our class banner done, right? *beams*

I'm busy busy busy.................................... why?????

My birthday is like coming in a week and all! And I'm not even THAT excited. I mean, wowe.

Hard to get excited when your birthday is right smack in the middle of all the stupid tests and projects right?

My blog is so hopelessly outdated!!

Our notice board project rocks!! We did on 'cute' serial killers ^_^ I think Ms Lee was kinda impressed heh heh heh coz there was slime all over the board with a rubber finger sticking out and blood dripping from it or something. I dont want to take it down!!!!! >.< I worried over it for the past week...

FRIDAYS ROCK!! LALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALA...

Sasa is so farnie =) My birthday is coming soon! *happy birthday to me...* I wanna watch movie.. i wanna watch Ella Enchanted!! (but i dont think it's released yet)

Mrs Allison Lim rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So far she's the only teacher who really blends with the students... she totally understands us... and in the fight against Ms Thoo, she joins in and bravely defends us! (ok la Ms Thoo isnt that bad lah.)

Ms Thoo's been praising us all these days... after reading also can go back first. Shiok sia. Nanny nanny poo poo. At first we wanted to kinda revolt by having all the girls put their belts at the chest (Crystal looked totally FREAKY like that, she demo for us after ms Thoo asked if Crystal's waist grew on her hips) or something (by the way i dont think i ever mentioned that Ms Thoo's pants are pulled all the way up her body?? *giggle giggle* =D). Mrs Lim also support us!!! Over both the C.I.P incident and the Ms Thoo war. We got a green sticker this week you know? Weird.

MATHS TEST I DOWAN PLEASE NO AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

I'll never be free... argh. SCHOOL SUCKS!!! Before, during, and after. All sucks.

I shall attempt to re-write a half of what I'd written just now.

What Kum Boon said about 2/7 in her blog:

Let me tell u bout the 2/7 truths.
1) We r not as bad as many ppl see us at. Yes our boys like to play football at the corridor. Yes i know its wrong but u cant judge us just becoz of this factor lo. Football is an enjoyable game and i cant blame them for not being able to resist the temptation of playing football whenever there is a free period. And they got caning for tat? A bit too extreme. Scolding and D.C can liao rite? pay for the ceiling can liao rite? Caning? Whats the world coming to.

2) Ms thoo stopped me one day and ask me to put up my belt coz its very loose.yes i know its my fault. Then she ask me for my class and she said " Oh. 2/7.the special class who tries to be different huh. Girls put loose belts. Boys play soccer at corridors. " WHat do u mean by 'tries to be different'? Huh. We don try to be different ok. We are unique in our way and so far only Mrs Allison Lim understands tat. We don try to be different for u.

3) Everytime during reading, some teachers will ask the whole sec2 level to stand up dunno for wat. Too noisy i think. However, there was once when i realized tat the rest of the sec 2 had sat down except for 2/7, 2/8 and 2/9. What the hell again. WHat did we do wrong? i really don know. Maybe some ppl came in late but other class don have ppl come in late meh? Its damn unfair.

CONCLUSION: 2/7 is a misunderstood class! Try not to always look on our bad side. we have a lot of good qualities ok. We r teh most united class in the Whole Wide World! Who dares to object?

What is Ms Thoo trying to imply? "Oh. 2/7.the special class who tries to be different huh. Girls put loose belts. Boys play soccer at corridors." Look. Technically our belts aren't loose OR low. They are not at the BUTT, neither are they riding at the hips. They are just not in the hooks we're supposed to put them through, and let's face it, no normal girl would use the hooks. It's SINGAPORE here! It's HOT. Our belts and socks (even the for malay girls) are a lot better than some of the other people in the other classes. How many people has she caught with loose belts? I'm not sure there's a lot of people who have loose belts in our class. I think of all the super thin and super guai people like Lijie and Polly I wonder where she got the basis that 2/7's the special class where all girls have loose belts. I mean, ze me suan we are still a special stream class with everyone scoring above 250 pts in PSLEs and the second best english language class in the level. We are civilised people. (Most anyway. With a few notable exceptions.) Our belts and uniform are presentable.

All along I thought Ms Thoo was rather fair and just and friendly. Now I am convinced she's a little biased against us. During EFL, she die die also must stare at our class. She dont stare she not happy. She find one of us dozing off, turning to exchange a whisper or two she happier. Then she will go complain to poor Mrs Allison Lim. Once she made a little fuss about Tammy massaging Nicky's shoulders during EFL (my God, who can blame them??? During EFL, all i want to do is to hunch over in a pronounced U shape to sleep. Hunching over puts a lot of strain on the back and shoulders; that's when the massage comes in handy. And it doesnt hurt that Tammy has great skilfull hands.).

Even Mrs Lim agreed privately that Ms Thoo's a bit biased. Her own class making a racket she don't bother, come and poke her nose into ours. She think WE think having loose belts, sloppy images, and having the guys play soccer very cool meh? Rumour has it other classes label us a NERD class, ok. (Completely untrue. Where'd it come from?) We are not craving for attention, we don't try to make ourselves SPECIAL or DIFFERENT.

About the soccer, well, i am fully on the side of discipline. The guys fully deserved the DC and scolding, PLUS the money they have to pay for the ceiling. No caning (caning would be too harsh.) after Han Hui "reasoned" with Mr Ang (seems Major Chong caught them boasting about who knocked down the most pieces of ceiling plasterboard. Guys = zero common sene). Mr Ang, being the kind and understanding discipline master he is, let them go with 3 hrs of DC each for 5 days. And they gotta pay for the ceiling. My only regret is that RAMA and Dev escaped the punishment because they were not there. (Rama seems to have claimed they were in a "gang fight". Yeah right. Rama, gang fight? He would be the first one to be killed.) Rama plain has an attitude problem. Well, maybe I dunno him well enough to say if he's a good or bad. But based on my knowledge of him NOW, i say he's definitely in the going-to-hell scale.

But then again, they play soccer, it's their problem right? You cant just drag the whole class in when forming opinions. Sure, the guys are irritating, but i guess since it's just SOCCER, so to be lenient, you can only attribute it to mischief. I mean, soccer! It's like wanting to read a book so much you try to sneak in some reading in between lessons.

Poor Jiajia... "anytime, anyplace - Syn Yeow the macho man!"
I mean, ew.

Yesterday, me and Amy were like coming out of the girls' toilet when we heard this commotion outside... (who quarrels outside a toilet...??) Some people were crowded around nicky, crystal, sort cheng from 2/6 and this 2/5 guy. I actually thought they were discussing the geog paper (-______-'' bu dong wei he hui chan sheng zhe zhong nian tou) but turns out Crystal was leading a heated debate on why 2/7 got a red sticker for out class cleaniness (means we get booked). Amy and I stood to watch how Crystal led the battle... (Crystal is so amazing AND impressive i tell you. Born-leader neh. =) Good class treasurer.)

I was also surprised to see Nicky so agitated, because, well, as everyone knows, Nicky has a good temper.

Firstly let me introduce to you how we are graded on our cleaniness:

floor: 1 mark
dustbin: 1 mark
whiteboard: 1 mark
tables and chairs: 2 marks
total: 5 marks

green sticker: 5 marks
blue sticker: 3 - 4 marks
red sticker: 0 - 2 marks

We found out from the 2 of them (not in a very polite manner, though) that we got a red sticker because

a) our whiteboard wasnt clean
b) the rubbish bin was full
c) there was a box on the floor

Do you know how we lost the mark for whiteboard? There were "writings not relevant to lessons and announcements". Just because we wrote something like 2/7 rox. The girl penalised us because of the word ROX. R-O-X. One point for the WHOLE white board, and it's gone because there was a ROX word there? Mdm Hee (my netball-teacher-in-charge who insists we greet her everytime we see her at practice and also the overall head for CIP) is SICK i tell you... the rules she set are ABSURD.

Oh yah, the rubbish bin not emptied? Oh sure, let's all bring plastic bags and hang them under the table so we can throw all our rubbish into them! The rubbish bin? Oh no, that has to be EMPTY AND CLEAN for the CIP reps when they check our classroom, it cant contain RUBBISH!

Bullshit!

And the floor? Only ONE POINT is allocated for the ENTIRE FLOOR. And we lost that because? As Sort Cheng put it: there was a box on the floor.

Woohoo.

What's the floor for if we cant put things on it? We might as well throw away all our projects and tables and chairs because the floor cant be used! Oh yes!

And you know what was the most ABSURD part? The box which lost us ONE WHOLE POINT? I had thought it was Gang Quan's group's notice board proj box, but turns out it was Ellysa's home econs container that had fallen out of the drawer underneath her table.

Double bullshit!

AND, i bet we lost points for the tables and chairs too, because they were all messed up. Let me tell you why they're all messed up: Mr Ismail had us take our Geog test during IPW, the last 2 periods of the day. We split up our tables to take the test. After the half hr paper, some of us moved back the tables, some of us didnt, because we were all discussing the paper. When the bell rang and Heryanti stepped out of the classroom, Sort Cheng and that 2/5 guy stepped in, glanced around the class, and gave us a red sticker.

Someone should tell them that even though the next day is a holiday and that they are eager to get home after school, they still SHOULD give us half hour's grace to LET THE PEOPLE DO THEIR DUTIES. Most classes have people doing their duties after school, that they should KNOW. Instead, they barrel in before we even had time to get up and stretch, and give us a red sticker. How do they expect us to have the class in tip-top condition if we havent even had time to do duties first? I guess they COULD say that we should have done the duties during school, but where is the time for that, I ask? There was a GEOG PAPER THAT DAY. Everyone who CARES about their grades will be mugging for the subject when they have a free minute. No time for cleaning the floor or arranging the tables. I mean, DUH!

PLUS, the whole class stayed back on WEDNESDAY to have spring cleaning. Ms Sek insisted we do so because everytime she came in our class is a mess (what can I say?). So we did. We cleared out every single bit of dirt and dust collected pver the months. When Jia and I looked at the floor, it was practically SHINING.

However, the next day we get a red sticker. Like what Han Hui said, "I think you guys (CIP ppl) are amazing. We just cleaned the class yesterday and we got a red sticker. Wen we don't, we get by with a blue sticker. *he starts clapping* You guys are really amazing, man."

The first time i found the guys USEFUL! Especially the part when Sort Cheng and the 2/5 guy were giving us grief about the stupid box on the floor, and talking about 2/5 or something, and Leroy, Divek and Han Hui went into the classroom and then came out, and Leroy saying casually, "You said there cannot be boxes on the floor right?"

Anyway, dont you think it's UNNATURAL for a class to be so CLEAN? It's a CLASS!

One-third of 2/7 stomped down to the teacher's staff room to tell Mrs Lim about this act of unfairness... only she wasnt in. i wasnt with them (stupid netball.) but from jia's blog, they found ms sek instead and it seems like she was a bit scared by us, cuz we brought such a large group there =P

Then they went back to class and out of defiance, they totally decorated the whiteboard with "2/7 rox"s and boxed up everything on the board =) And we were all 2/7 GOES GREEN! etc... wahahahaha. 2/7's so CUTE.

Because you know what? 2/7 really HAS got class spirit.

The good jellyfish blocks no road!!!!!!!! =)

Ok, read jiajia's blog and totally in mood to blog liao. (enthusiasm is slowly ebbing away... i think must open jia's blog next to my window then got effect la...)

So the first thing i must mention is the sad demise of the only living speaker in our classroom... indeed, the cruel soccer ball(s) knocked it down... so now both the freaky speakers are hanging on the wires connecting them to the PA or whatever...

The guys in our class are incredibly stupid, irritating and wimpy. But they are innovative. Cuz the newest "fad" in class is not soccer (after mrs lim saw Rama brandishing the stupid thing around she confiscated both) but archery. Guess how they do it?

Dev lor... create some stupid bow out of 2 rulers and a rubber band. He made a hole through one ruler, the other one was "moulded" into an arch, and then the rubber pen is to hold the ink refill they use to be the arrow. Their target is the huge styrofoam whale from Jeremy's group when they did the Lit project. Jin Jun drew circles on it and numbered them. (well.) He also made a bow for himself (much more elaborate than Dev's, but very risky cuz most of it is made of lego, and what if someone, say myself, gets the urge to kick it, it'll probably be a bow no more) and got his own ink refills.

Have i mentioned how the class seems perpetually dirty? No amount of SWEEPING can clean it up. I am serious. It is covered with all the dust, tissue, paper, sweet wrappers, sprite bottles, ink refills, pens and goodness knows what. (by the way all the guys step on the teacher's table whenever they want to get the ink refill embedded in the whale or take the whale down because they are all too short to reach it) Then Jin Jun and Jeremy (god knows what those sci freaks do at their table)'s area is ALWAYS after effect of hurricane hit lor... get them to clean also shrug shrug.. that time me and jia totally cleaned up for them... and the next day? It's messed up again.

Mdm Foong went for character analysis and found out that if she continued acting like what she acted in front of our class she would die early with no one to mourn her death and people would probably be opening champagne and totally celebrating... thus she decided to change for some reason. She keeps on smiling now. It's scary actually.

And Sin Yeow is a girl-crazy, perverted, sadistic, sexually deprived sex maniac.

I don't wan Jiajia to go out with a guy who's shorter than me and calls her a bakery product!!!!!!! Talk about EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!! NO!!! DEVOTE ALL YOUR TIME TO YOUR 4 DAUGHTERS (one of them who, by the way, is hearing-impaired, partially blind and very abnormal) (Liu Xinying) AND BUY MORE SWEETS FOR US TO EAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wan ting Cyndi's new songs... =D

I wan watch Ms Congeniality again!!!!!!!!! ("my breast fell out") I'm adding its VCD to my wishlist... Sandra Bullock so cute!!!!!!!!!!

RAINFORESTS: WE NEED THEM

Rainforests are the finest celebration of nature ever known on the planet. Though rainforests cover less than two percent of the Earth's surface, they are home to some 40 to 50 percent of all life forms on our planet - as many as 30 million species of plants, animals and insects. So can you imagine how many of the world's organisms will be killed if those rainforests are gone? They will die out gradually, slowly becoming extinct. This may be a great pity for the future generations, who will not be able to learn about the many organisms which roam the earth now.
When rainforests are destroyed, the ecosystem will ultimately be affected. Without trees, there is a lack of food for herbivores and omnivores, and thus they will die when all the food is finished, and the carnivores, after finishing the dead animals, will be wiped out too as reproduction is not going on. This will also affect mankind, which will eventually starve to death. There are also close to 50 million people in the world who live in rainforests, depend on them for survival.

Rainforests also play a big part in balancing the different components of air. The trees replenish oxygen and take in carbon dioxide when they photosynthesize, making sure that there will be enough oxygen for the billions of people on earth, and also preventing too much carbon dioxide from escaping into the atmosphere. Trees are important to mankind as they help to reduce global warming as carbon dioxide is a major factor in causing greenhouse effect. If carbon dioxide is not removed by photosynthesize, and continuously produced through respiration, global warming will worsen. There are many dire consequences of global warming - including the ice caps at the north and south poles melting as a result of the increase in temperature, causing flooding of the oceans, and this may in turn lead to flooding of low-lying countires like Singapore. How many lives will be lost then? Also, there will be a lack of oxygen when there are no trees to produce it, and without oxygen, mankind will surely become extinct.

Rainforests are a vital source of medicines too. Today, less than 1% of the world's tropical forest plants have been tested for pharmaceutical properties, yet at least 25% of all modern drugs came originally from rainforests. Annual worldwide sales of plant-derived pharmaceuticals currently total $20 billion. What will become of the world's economy if all those drugs, which come from trees in rainforests, are gone as a result of deforestation? Deforestation cost us the cure of AIDS - a compound that blocks the spread of the AIDS virus in human cells was destroyed when the tree containing it was cut down and till today, no similiar compound has been found. Without all the medicines from rainforests to treat us when we fall sick, mankind will be vastly affected and die out.

Apart from being an invaluable source of medicines, rainforests offer a veritable bounty of foods. Of an estimated 75,000 edible plants found in nature, only 150 enter world commerce and only 20, (mostly domesticated cereals), stand between human society and starvation. There will be a loss in food variety if those foods are gone as a result of deforestation.

Rainforests have been described as the global heat and water pumps because of their influence on climate - they absorb heat. Rain is more likely to happen above rainforests because the air there is cooler. If rainforests disappear this will dramatically affect the water circulation of the atmosphere and is likely to alter weather patterns thousands of miles away.

By taking away the rainforests, we are deprived of even just a simple nature walk through them, not to mention all the dire consequences without them, like global warming and the extinction of mankind. Rainforests play a vital role in keeping us alive, keeping life on earth going. We need rainforests more than we'll ever know!

Bu cuo ba. =)

I'm thinking of closing this blog... I dont seem to have the mood to write anything... I think of the Geog test and I get morbid all over again... i have no mood to do ANYTHING!! Well, except play on my com ^______^ And experiment with Adobe (my god adobe is the best software EVER).

I did a new layout for the 6A blog! It's so cheery *bounce bounce bounce*

Tomorrow me get to watch Ms Congeniality!!! *_______________* I tried to get the VCD a few years back but couldnt find it... channel 5 is actually playing it! Woohoo!

Today family + er peh went out for dinner... had chilli crab as one of the dishes... my first time eating crab using my own hands. Really malu... i dunno why others can crack the shell so effortlessly while i sit there and struggle, my hands covered with all the chilli MUCK. So er. Then when i was trying to tear one piece open it flew out of my hands and totally landed on the floor with the shell apart and the meat at another spot. And i totally wasted the 10 minutes of struggling.

Then when this guy came to collect the bill he crushed the meat into the floor and i was like STARING because he didnt seem to feel anything and when he left I saw the thing GROUNDED into the floor with the juices and everything... ewwwww.

Just remembered i havent done the geog online test. AHHHHHHHHH.

I am not in the mood to study for GEOGRAPHY. I have a test on Tue, and on monday i have netball until 6.30, so obviously i'm not going to get any work done THEN. Tomorrow is my only HOPE. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Off to do shit test.
