I should probably try to get in one last post before I leave for Bangkok, seeing as how my resolution to blog religiously did not hold up -.-

Anyway I am officially down with f ever. This is the third day of fever. I have had splitting headaches, pouding temples, giddy field of vision and heaviness of head. Anyway the thing is I can't stare very long at words or my headache gets worse. So what I'm doing now is to stare reolutely at the keyboard and tpe without looking up at the screen. OH MY GOD, WHY AM I SO SUAY TO GET FEVER ON CHRISTMAS EVE, SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT

My mom's been making me gan mao cha, which is 3$ a packet and super effective. Or so I thought. l;ast night, I drank a packet and sweated like crazy for the first time in 48 hours and felt loads better. But after I finished the last sip, I stopped sweating and my headache returned. Wha shit. I think it's addictive because this morning, I drank too, and I felt better (although didn't sweat so much) but after I stopped drinking.................. pow, headache comes back. Shit shit shit shit shit. I want to go to Bangkok feeling 100% healthy and un-sick. Why why why why am I sooooooooooo unlucky (stupid -.-). I think the rain on the 24th aggravated my condition. I was already feeling quite woozy and feverish, you know, and you have the feeling that you SURE will kena fever one, so I went home early and was in bed by 11, and at 2am I woke up with a FUCKING SPLITTING POUNDING HEADACHE and couldn't get back to bed because my temples were going BRMBRMBRMBRM and I wanted to just roll over and die. So I got up and took panadol and wore jacket

wah jiat lat cannot splitting headache -.- continue later or tomrrow.

I may be wrong and please correct me if I am. But I have an idea that when your mother finds out that you were taking Panadol the night before, the most likely reply she will give you should be something along the lines of "you headache ah? Now okay already?", and NOT "zuo tian qu zou hor? Lei hor?" in a fucking snide voice.

Okay, I am behind in posting everything. I made promises which I am unable to keep (for now at least. But I really really want to blog about the lit trip one! It's just that... NINE DAYS!!!). Whatever. Let me just say really random stuff like, for example, the weather nowadays is fantastic. My hair is in super good shape I have no frigging idea why. It doesn't really frizz anymore, it feels soft and smooth and sleek, it is the best hair ever. Unlike that time during As when it was shitty and frizzy and kept curling at the ends and drove me crazy whenever I went out. Urgh. I partly suspect my hair is so fantastic now because Yu Ling is a fabulous hairdresser and the way she cuts just makes my hair stay in place. I am going to continue to patronize her until she retires in another 30 years' time. I love my hair. La la la. I can't stop touching it in joy. You have no idea of my joy okay! That time when I was still prepping for As, my hair REALLY felt like shit. Everytime I looked into the mirror I HAD to fuss with it somehow and deplore its lamentable condition and feel a bit depressed that it sucked so bad. IT WAS SO SAD!!! But now miracles have happened. THANK YOU, GOD, FOR GIVING ME GOOD HAIR THIS MONTH! Let it continue for the rest of next year, please.

Also, I just spent my weekend wallowing in boredom. I finished packing my geog and lit notes, to be given away sold for a small price to my juniors, who will love me when they find the notes because I swear they are fucking useful. Not that this means I am going to score A for lit and geog, obviously. But I still think they'll HELP them in their quest to conquer the As. The rest of my notes... well Econs will be going to my cousin because he says he's sorta flunking. Woohoo, join the rest of the 56% of the JC population :) Apparently our lecture notes suck so I'm not going to give them to him, but all the rest of the material like essay notes and stuff are still really good, so I'll dump it on him. Also my GP stuff. A LOT of RJ essays haha. It's the least I can do after having him supply me with years of illegally downloaded mp3s, transferred into my mp3 player everytime I go to his house for new year.

Oh yes, perhaps a word or two about prom. SDD 08 was so blah. I asked most of the Andersonians about their proms (not just the VJ ones) and they agreed their proms were quite blah too. I think it's simply because our 06 one at Grand Hyatt was so memorable and fun that it raised the bar quite a bit. I mean, in 06 it was a buffet with superb food and dessert (BUFFET!), we had a dance floor, I really personally knew the pageant finalists (3 from my class - oh yes Nicky and Dev and Caro! Hahhaa), we had a dance floor (did I already say that?), I knew most of the Sec 4s, I loved most of the Sec 4s I knew, the toilet was so near to the bathroom and the lighting SO GOOD we took so many nice photos inside, after that Jia Nicky Dev and I cabbed to his house for a stayover and Resident Evil, and and and

Well you get the idea. Prom this year at Swissotel... well. Oh a =x face instantly popped into my head I swear hahaha I'm just going to write this down. So boring. Food was blah (RJ paid same amount as us at the same location but they got more expensive food! I think SC cheat our money) although I had a lot of fun watching Cassandra "eat" her dinner. Hahaha. The activities of the night were kinda blah too. Some great performances (I am totally in love with October Sky, just as much as I was during MusicFest), some not so commendable (-.-) but all trying very hard to give us a good time. Pageant finalists gave a good showing! My whole table was so amused by Nick's ballroom dancing. :) Isabelle's dress was da bomb. I think I voted for her purely because of that dress. Kuan Ren looked frigging gorgeous I have no idea how she managed to find such a suitable outfit. All of the girls look hot though, which goes without saying. Oh yes, I finally found out where Melodie got her unusual dress! It had this intriguing tie-dye purple and red print. I saw it in Bugis BHG last week. It looked boring on the mannequin but so right on her!

Oh yes, we sat right in front of the stage. Like literally first table in front of the stage. Best places in the room already. No competition. And STILL I couldn't get engaged completely -.- I didn't even take many photos because I couldn't find the camera charger at home (seriously. I found it the day after I got home and asked my mom though. She kept it away. Well done) and went to prom with only 2 bars of batt left, so worried of having it conk out before post-prom I tried to prolong its battery life by taking less photos. Plus, we all looked weird in the photos despite the Canon Digital Ixus 860 IS being the God of Cameras, our faces slightly blurred because of the dim lighting and my refusal to use flash because I hate flash. Eventually gave up and used flash la, of course. Anyway point is I went back home loaded the photos and they looked damn good on my computer. What the hell. Should have taken more photos. I mean, it IS prom after all. But I'd just like to say that despite the fact that Swissotel is posh, the ballrooms we were in are so not -.- So middle-class wedding dinner and unamazing bathrooms. The bathrooms on the 69th floor, however, which I visited when I went to Equinox, are a WHOLE different story. I think the bathroom is essentially thr size of a 3 room flat. It has 3 different sections, and upon entering you encounter the dressing room section for people to apply makeup in front of large mirrors etc, and the area was HUGE, and then I walked on wondering where the toilets were and encountered the SINK area, which was again HUGE, and I walked on thinking if I was going in the wrong direction, when FINALLY upon entering the third section I saw these HUGE cubicles with HUGE doors with toilets in them. Phew. In comparison, the toilets near the wedding dinner ballrooms are shit. Puny. Low-class. Hahaha.

Lucky I didn't spend money on my dress and shoes! *falls to ground and is amazed at own genius* Because the whole affair wouldn't be worth my blowing another 100 bucks on outfit. Nowhere to go and show off lah. Just not in my element. So sad. Anyway, post-prom was blah as well. Bloody O-bar was so bloody small and bloody so many people turned up for post-prom -.- Also, Enid got bloody bounced out for being born 15 days later than 2 Dec and not being legally 18. ARGH!!!! I know TJ's post-prom at DXO allowed all the J2s in! Where got people have JC post-prom then turn away the J2 December babies one -.- Organisers never tell us in the first place! Enid bought ticket already know!!! Neh neh!

So yes starting mood a bit dashed already (Enid cabbed home alone eventually.), then when Jess and I entered at about 1.30am we were like ZOMG AT THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE. I thought the music was very bad -.- so I couldn't actually get into the mood to dance. Also, there was no Jia to accompany me and be outrageous... :(:(:( Chia chia! You are in China, I miss you very much... Luckily Kavin was there to help us look after our clutches and stuff, or else, thanks to the insane state of packed-ness of that place, we confirmed wouldn't be able to find a place to dump our stuff and go dance at all. Thanks Kavin!!!

And you know what was the worst? TEHY THREW US OUT AT 3AM! %^@^#@! -.- Where got post-prom party end so early one? Jess, Mel and I were only in there for 1 1/2 hours! After that we lingered outside for some time wondering what to do. Eventually, I took up Kavin's offer of overnight mahjong at his house (because Hian Huat had arrived, mistakenly thinking the bar was gonna be open long enough for him to enter, and now he was stranded without anything to do) along with Jess and Mel (who almost didn't know HH and Kavin at all) - brave girls right! - and cabbed to his house in Philips Avenue. Kavin's house is rich people's house lor, which is one of the reasons why I went as well XD I mean, we played mahjong in a carpeted karaoke room leh. His kitchen is black and white with electric gas stoves which consist of a sleek gleaming black surface with thin white circles outlining the shape of the stove. I proceeded to lose all the mahjong games we played from about 4 to 6.15? I tell you I always lose when I play money. When I don't I really got win one you know!!! Sigh. Lost $2 to the big winners of the night, Kavin and HH.

Anyway, in between Hian Huat got hungry and evryone got hungry and they all went to cook instant noodles! Kavin just literally opened a cupboard door and mee fell out from the sky. Haha. His family stocks up on rations. The rest ate a lot of mee except for me, I drank my Nescafe coffee (which came in the Vegas goodie bag. Really nice leh the coffee). Eventually we left at about 6.30 so the girls could cab without encountering the peak hour surcharge, and stood flailing taxis in different directions (Jess and Mel both live in the East, so I'm headed in opposite direction from them), but not before asking this bemused Indian man to help us take a photo with Kavin's camera, standing at the traffic light :D Funny. So yes lah, I finally got my taxi, reached home at 7am and died. I woke up at noon leh wth. Jess said she slept at 8 woke at 4. Kavin slept at 7 woke at 4. Why I only sleep 5 hours?

Anyway, I was crippled with backache and headaches for the rest of the day -.- I can't stay up overnight already man, I'm getting old... Ooh father is bacj with lunch. Off now!

I have a shitload of pictures from pre-As. Here are some memorable ones from when I was still mugging :)

Chen gan wen, who is really quite perverted for a girl, and has waggly eyebrows and se lian. This was taken at AMK library maybe a week before the As started? The guy at the back yakking into his phone looks a little bit gay =x

The penguin (-.-) Jia made out of the correction tape refill paper holder. FOR ME! It is so cute. I think Wen and I gave it a name at the library... only I can't remember what it is. Shit.

The random guys sitting at the computers who were really, really, realy good friends.

Our extremely futile overnight studying at the airport, where we talked so much nonsense instead of properly studying. I managed to do like, one math paper? And read Mr Ho's feedback on the Malfi prelim question. I remember dozing off with a purple highlighter in my hand and his lecture notes in the other, sitting in a chair somewhere in T2 near bus terminal waiting for 858 to come (it was still too early for the buses to start operating) Sasa actually brought Robber her dirty brown rabbit plushie along to the study date -.- Because Wen asked for it. Well.. Wen was very distracted by Robber's seducting brown ears and couldn't concentrate on her bio.

After camping out at BK T2 for a while in the evening and shifting to Mc's in T1 for the rest of the night, we went to the viewing gallery at 5am to watch planes. Which is really rubbish lah of course. There we met this young couple sitting on the floor leaning against the wall. The girl had her entire head in the guy's arms and the guy looked super depressed. Well it is wise not to meddle in others' affairs, so we walked more in (encountering workers who were sleeping on the chairs) and sat on the floor to do stupid things.

Alright I'm gonna stop for now. PROM TOMORROW!

Lingga says @#%$! at 10:36 AM

ZOMG. I SKIVVED OFF AGAIN. CANNOT CANNOT.

So yes back to where I left off. On Wed I accompanied Wen to go find her chic vest blouse pants ensemble for prom. I went back to Far East Plaza, where we encountered this quite mean middle aged saleslady in Honey & Bee (true, Wen tried on like 3 vests and 2 pairs of pants and 1 shirt and didn't buy anything, and yes we were terribly sorry about wasting her time but the shop was EMPTY for us both) who became all snippy and upset that we were intending to go without getting anything. Plus, some of the stuff was really horribly overpriced! Like that white shirt! It is a nice white shirt, but it is certainly not worth $40 when it is made of pasar malam material with threads hanging loose!

We were so spooked that after we left the shop, everytime we went up and down the escalator, we went the long way around the shop (which was located right in front of the escalator) to get around the floor so she wouldn't see us and run out screaming brandishing her fists.

Eventually Wen found her vest in Bus Stop. Then the search commenced for the perfect shirt. We agreed it would have to have somewhat larger, poufier sleeves to make the top look more glam and formal than the normal everyday button down shirt. Tried a bloody whole bunch of shirts. Which were like really expensive too. Eventually found one which she liked in Pepper Plus. And then we went ALL THE WAY to Square 2 in Novena to look at shoes and also because I knew from visual memory there was a shop there that sold the exact same clothes as Honey & Bee (except with a different name). She got her pants there instead, black, not from the ungracious woman in Far East. And then when we stumbled into Charles & Keith I advised her to buy this SUPER GL PAIR OF SHOES AND SHE GAMELY TRIED IT ON and eventually when the saleslady started cutting out the paddings for the back of the shoes because it was a bit too big for her, WE REALISED WE HAD TO BUY IT SO SHE DID at 40% off (SUPER CHEAP!) AND IT IS A SUPER GUAI LAN PAIR OF SHOES BUT WHICH I ASSURED HER WOULD LOOK AMAZINGLY AND PAINFULLY CHIC WITH HER OUTFIT!

Check out her gl shoes tomorrow night man. They will be the talk of the town :)

Next day - shopping again this time with Jin Ning. Shudder. But I haven't been out with her in ages and it was the first time in like a year plus? None of our habits has changed, just that now we're both super she de hua qian now!!! I mean, everyone knows I'm like a bloody cheapskate, and I like being one because I end up having so much more money to spend than everyone else, and Jin Ning used to be really cautious about what she bought especially clothes, must make sure will have chance to wear etc etc that type. THIS TIME, when we met, I could barely recognize it was her if I had to only look at spending patterns man! She spent $140 that day! True, we are still superb bargain hunters and will never buy overpriced stuff, and we did get a lot of good deals (she bought THREE pairs of shoes? Like hello, that is difficult? Super nice shoes which were on sale? And also um eyeshadow set from Body Shop, and a face mask).

But this time round we both agreed on the need to INVEST in capital goods which will increase our productive capacity in the long run. We will buy quality shoes, clothing, makeup and facial products which will aid us in our development into young women entering university. We will work out the image we want to project and dress ourselves appropriately to create an appearance that is sustainable both during our dalliances on and after the threshold of adulthood. Money will be a less important factor from now on. What is important is the potential growth achieveable! Rah rah rah!!! Hhahaa. You know what I mean lah.

Then Sat night I went for the SSP gathering at Wynne's house, partly to celebrate May's belated birthday, which I will blog about in detail (with pictures of Momo the pomeranian rug) once Wynne manages to send me photos.

I hope her parents get to come back safely today. And for the sake of my Bangkok trip on 27 - 30 Dec, may the airport be open by then and may the conflicts, riots and demonstrations, if unable to be resolved completely, at least happen on a smaller scale, so I can go on the last holiday trip I might be taking with my JC clique, create unforgettable memories and buy many fabulous cheap accessories. (Also, I want to see how Cassandra survives during meals there.)
