Yesterday was the last day of the OP warehouse sale! Wen and I went together. Thank God I was bored enough to go take notice of that tiny ad on the last page of Wednesday's issue of Life!. Or else I would have missed out on such a GOOD bargain. That ad appeared only in Wed's issue.

The warehouse sale wasn't even held in a building. It was just this area outside some building that was pitched tent-like. Something like pasar malams. It was rather dark inside. There were TONS of people milling around. You couldn't bring your bags in. You had to deposit them at this counter manned by this kiddy boy and his even kiddier sister. Anyway, we started to prowl through all the clothing dumped on the big tables. You know, pasar malam style. We waited until new boxes of clothing were opened and dumped. At first we weren't smart enough with the ways of the more seasoned shoppers, but we learnt fairly quickly. Even before the new clothing hit the table, everyone started snatching at the clothing already. All those OP pants which you see at $29.90/39.90? Going for 5 bucks now. Wen and I managed to get a pair of this nice pair of OP cut offs at the knees each. It's white with lavendar-coloured motifs. So we have the same pair of pants -____-'' Wen got her Wave King t-shirt =*( in M. I saw another one!! In fact, I had reached out to grab it when this auntie in front of me reached it first and inspected it with a critical eye. I was HOPING and HOPING that she would dump it back into the pile, but ALAS, she held on to it!!!! AH! T_____T

I, however, got this nice blue OP Girl tee from this uncle who was already going to put it back into the pile for his daughter. I heard him say he was going to return it, and I panicked and asked him for it =D There are a few white paint spots at the back, but I seriously do not care. I LIKE IT!

Wen got an OP pencil case while I got a PINK ALL OVER OP wallet! Both at 5 bucks only. 5 BUCKS! My God! I love my new wallet. I don't care if you give me grief about how PINK it is. I'm turning into a BIMBO. I'm beginning to LIKE shopping for clothes. My new wallet RAWKS RAWKS RAWKS! It's PINK and I love how it's PINK. I don't understand this absurd bias some people have against pink. Pink is every bit as nice as blue or orange. It's not as if people who like pink walk around weird or whatever. PINK RAWKS! My wallet rawks!

And they gave us each this pair of BEAUTIFUL chokers. Those chokers where the guy gets one, and the girl gets one. Only of course I don't have anyone to give it to. So I've decided to wear them both at one go =D However, wearing just the girl choker is nice too. Wen is especially excited at the prospect of wearing something around her neck. Haha! Both of us regret not buying MORE stuff at the sale. I mean, lots of things were going for only 5 bucks. And all the wallets and pencil cases were at 5 bucks. We should have bought a lot of them and gave them out as presents next time someone's birthday comes around!! Or when I want to change wallets! Ah, the remorse!!!

After that, Wen and I went to Causeway Point. I was supposed to do more new year shopping lah. But we ended up taking neoprints again =DD We wasted money on the neocards! Then when to take neoprints. Available for viewing here and here (you can keep clicking on the image so that a big arrow appears for you to widen the image. you guys DO know that right?).

It's absolutely spastic. Especially the kiang wee part =P I look like I'm gonna hunt Mr Lim down and eat him alive!! Goodness. And the banana part. Well. We were inspired by Ananda and his pelvis-thrusting action...

Wasted so much money on neoprints! It's SO ADDICTING. I swear to God I MUST buy a neoprint machine for myself if I strike it rich one day.

By the way, my house phone can send and recieve sms! We can sms for FREE for 3 whole months. So people, sms my house phone too, it doesn't MATTER at all =DDD

ANDERSON BEAT ANG MO KIO NETBALL!!!!!!!!!!! WOOT WOOT WOOT!!!!! GREAT JOB JUNIORS!!!!! YOU GUYS RAWK! G.I.A.N.T.S RAWK!!!!!!!!

For those who don't know, AMK netball is like the creme de la creme of netball. Our C Div beat their C Div just now, 18 - 17! Nat told me it was a great fight. GOD! I always miss the great fights! WHY!!?? CURSE MY STUPID MATHS TEST AND CHINESE COMPO!!! I really wanted to go support them today because, frankly, I thought there was a high possibility of losing. But ARGH!!! Stupid homework and stupid maths test!!!!! I wanna watch the match watch the match watch the match!!!!!!!!!!

It's probably very unsportsmanly of me (heck to sportsmanship, I'm a female) to say this, but I'm glad the juniors beat them by just one goal. The coach must be INCENSED at us and even more at the players. Tee hee. My God, it just feels so good!! =DD Jia you C Div!

Anyway, today was a very irritating day. I WASHED MY RIGHT CONTACT LENSE DOWN THE SINK!!!!!!! See, I had it on my finger and had pressed it to my eyeball. Then I lifted my finger and looked around and everything looked clear. So I washed my hands and the contact lens case. And stepped out of the bathroom, looked around. Weird. I closed my left eye and found out my right eye was NOT holding the contact lense!!!!!! AH!!! I freaked out there and went back to inspect the sink. GONE!! I WASHED IT DOWN WHEN I WASHED MY HANDS! It'd probably sunk into the shape of my finger and then not realising it was there, I'd washed it down the sink!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Ok, I ripped open a new case and put it in. But it felt awfully weird so I suspect I'd put it the wrong way in, so I took it out, put it in again. Then walked to the MRT. On the platform, I was thinking what if my contact lense just dropped out in the train? I was mentally going how I'd just stuff it right back into my eye regardless of how dirty my fingers were, and then I stepped into the train, blinked, and the whole right lense fell out. Like, hanging from my eye. GOD. I plucked it out and started mumbling shit shit shit under my breath while examining it and this UNCLE in front of me seemed so HAPPY. He was smiling at me all the time while I went shit shit shit. Goodness. What, he thinks its an experiment to see how kids do under stress??? [......] So I wrapped it up in tissue and walked to school. Good thing my left eye is stronger than my right eye so I had almost perfect vision. Just that the side is kinda blurry. And borrowed saline solution from Xueling and cleaned my lenses. Xueling told me if I didn't wet it in an hour, my lense would dry up and spoil. -_________-'' It was already very HARD when I opened it, and I was praying fervently for it to resume its jelly-like touch.. Then when it did, I put it into my eyes. SUCCESS! I FELT REJUVENATED! FREE! Ahh! So happy =D

Then it started to run or something in the carpark. In english, Nicky told me I'd probably put it in thr wrong way -_____-'' So I went in during recess to put it in the other way. But when I put it in, it was probably dirty because my eye was mildly irritated. After recess it was Bio, and we did this hilarious pass-nicky's-pe-shirt in class, and I laughed so hard my eye cleared. I was so relieved. =DD

Spastic right! The whole journey I mean. And my zuo wen sucks -_____-''

*chews on tongue*

I haven't finished my HOMEWORK. I haven't finished worksheet revision 1A because I have forgotten all about LCMs and HCFs. I haven't finished my english portfolio writing -_____-'' and also I haven't completed the itinerary thing.

And there's a freaking test on Linear Inequalities on Friday. Like, wowe, I am SOOO looking forward to it.

No wait, the thing I look forward to MOST would be the match tomorrow. Against Woodgrove. Right.

Gee Han Hui just logged in with a nic that says yourfaceyoureyesyoursmile. Hmm, i wonder what's up ;)

I realise Jia Ru's blog is full of crap. She goes on and on and on and on.. I don't have that ability. I have to crap ABOUT something that'd happened. Which is why most of my recent entries are so.. short. And even more meaningless than usual. I'm sorry that your source of entertainment has been cut short. Unless you want to hear all about my neopets journey (I FAILED ILLUSEN'S QUEST ON LEVEL 34. LEVEL 34. SHE GIVES A HONEY POTION ON LEVEL 35. AHHHHHHHHHH!!!! DAMN YOU ILLUSEN!!! FRIGGING BITCH!!!! ASKED ME FOR A 700K RED LUPE MORPHING POTION!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!!)

BIGG DISCLAIMER!

I am not lovesick. Or lovelorn. Or in love. This layout, and the little verses in the previous entries, are just for fun. I made the layout because I love the image, and how the heck am I supposed to match the pic if I don't use lovey-dovey colours like baby pink and purple?? And the verses were ripped off from a friendster display picture I saw somewhere. I made a few edits and posted it for fun. Since it matches my layout and all. Stop asking me who I'm in love with. God. Until all the guys I know grow out of immaturity/feminism/lamerism or simply start acting like a GUY (and who knows how long that can take), I am NOT planning to fall for anybody.

So there.

Woohoo. Now I can be like that bright eyed and bushy-tailed girl going to London on TV. And I will open my eyes big big and stare in amazement and wonder at my surroundings like I am seeing a tree for the first time in my entire life

MY SINCEREST APOLOGIES TO GANDHI!

I'm sorry I mistakenly spelt your name as GHANDI for 2 days.. until Sonia told me today in class and Kinshi told me on my tag =( So basically, the GHANDI I was scribbling on my handbook (all over my handbook, Nicky's handbook, and Jia's handbook) is not the honourable GANDHI who did that thing with the slipper/shoe. It's, perhaps, some lucky guy out there in India who somehow became my idol for 2 days. And he has to give me free slippers because I wrote GHANDI SHALL GIVE ME FREE SLIPPERS on Nicky's handbook.. uh oh.. what if he's, like, poor, and can't afford it?? And then he has to sell his COW to have money to buy me a pair of slippers! But I don't want anyone to sell their cow just so I can have a new pair of slippers (even though I totally need a new pair of slippers, since I don't even HAVE a pair of slippers after that one pair I had died in the chalet, and now I'm using one of my sister's, who, by the way, has like 20 30 pairs)! It would be just plain MEAN.

Perhaps I shall address a letter to GHANDI in India. About the slipper thing. And tell him I excuse him from giving me free slippers.

I have a feeling Ms Heng gets a kick out of calling my name.. or maybe she's just too used to me saying CLASS STAND, then CLASS GREET in her english class. Shunwei told me that when their english class greeted her without waiting for the english rep (who couldn't be bothered to call I think), Ms Heng went "where's Yiling?" [...]

I've editted the chalet photos and am ready to post them at the pic gallery soon! I need someone's photobucket account for me to upload them though x)

I wanna go back to Chongfu for CNY! *beams* throw orange at Mrs Chu.. so fun!

Nicky is acting even more wacky than usual. And the iron keeps kissing poor Chiachia's hand.. hence the ugly scars =( (but Chiachia stupid.. let iron kiss.. heh heh)

Ghandi's loincloth is hiding Ghandi's sexy legs! Whimpering Ghandi! Ghandi is my idol! Ghandi shall give me free slippers! Ghandi rawks!

I'm here to elaborate on campfire nite! *sigh* I still have some homework to do (surprisingly; I thought I would have finished all of them in that boring 2 hours waiting in the classroom while Jody and the rest experimented with the hole in the classroom that links 3/4 to 3/3 - but more about that later), but yuck, who's interested in doing mind maps of "CHAPTER 1: WHAT IS BIOLOGY?"

So, anyway, halfway through the campfire, people started throwing light sticks all around and into one another's faces. The campfire was really quite boring, except for us Sec 3s getting high on the music and screaming. Letch stepped on the bench and hollered her head off when her peer class was performing. And we did can-can kicks to the music. [...] But whatever.

About the open house. Did I mention that I drank 4 cups of milo? =) Drifted around the carpark looking at other CCA groups' stalls. Camped at the guides' stall for a while hoping I could get one or two of the marshmallows they were roasting (even attempted to bribe Yixuan and Lijie with milo) but they ignored me T___T So mean!

Anyway, we met Banu's little brother (whom I REALLY think only measures up to my elbows - by the way the Sec 1s this year seem so... midget-y) who was convinced that NCC was THE CCA for him, and Banu and Vidya and the rest were trying to persuade him NOT to join NCC (come on, we all know what goes on in NCC), and I was like "do you really want to spend 4 years doing pumpings with your butt in the air and barking PERMISSION TO RECOVER SIR", but he wouldn't change his mind. Oh well. (no offense to any NCC guys who adore their CCA)

And Mr Liew was like placing stars next to the Sec 1s who'd put down their names under ex-netball players, and it turned out he was placing them based on the schools, and he started to tell us about which primary schools played good netball, and Townsville Primary was one of them, and I was saying absently that we (Chongfu) managed to beat them that year in 2000.. I still remember, we were so freaked out by the Townsville players. They were all so LEAN and had muscles in their legs (the muscles in the legs were especially taken notice of by all of us) and they all wore such serious expressions that we were rather intimidated. The Chongfu team was in a rather negative mood, especially after losing to Xishan. So it really surprised us that we beat them, 17 - 9. It was one of those happy occasions =) and Mrs Miranda told us we all played really well in that match.

There's one netballer from Chongfu called Claudia (must take notice of her ^^). I wonder if Mrs Miranda and Ms Pang are still coaching netball? Sigh. Miss Chongfu netball.

Blah. Anyway, where was I? Oh. I met Nicky near the milo truck and we were spying on the NCC guys who had on camouflage gear (I was going "oh look, there's a pomelo tree!" once again, no offense meant. In fact, this means their camouflage was working, and it deserves praise don't you think *beams*).

And I just remembered, tomorrow we're receiving our medals "onstage" during assembly. I think Mrs Tan once told us when we were Sec 1s, that she hoped she would see all of us going up there to receive something in our 4 years. So I'm actually quite happy that I'll have a chance like this. 4 whole years, and you've never gone up there... it's rather sad.

To all 2/7ers, do you guys want a chalet in June? If so we must start booking in March le. Get back to me anytime. I know people like Jia Ru and Wen are going nuts over having a chalet.

CCA open house today. Coach had this bright idea to have an unplanned training all of a sudden. So we had training right in the middle of the open house. -_______-'' Damn tired.

Sec 1 Campfire Nite yesterday. Stayed back to help with the netball stall and then watched the campfire. It was held so early this year! Our time we had it in, erm, June. After like 2 postpones because fo SARS. This time they had less than 14 days to prepare. No wonder all so damn un-coordinated. Haha. Ok shall cut them some slack. We stood on benches and danced. Swayed so vigourously (especially Nicky, but I shall get to that later). Played with light sticks. Stuck them in the hair, inside the specs, in shoes, made bracelets, halos, chains blah blah. Then threw our hands in the air and bounced! Fun =) Nicky was totally embarrassing.. was acting like Jin Jun in his Saturday Night Fever mood.. only worse.

And Yiling and Jia Ru kept screaming -_____-'' The parents must all think Andersonians are a bunch of freaks who like to scream.. and I thought they looked very bored there. They were certainly not interested in the performances (because everyone kept standing up and blocking the parents but the parents were all staring blankly into each other's backs).

I'm feeling sluggish even after that 3h nap today *snooze*. Had this really evil dream. I still don't feel good even when thinking about the dream. Haiz. Homework undone!! *big innocent eyes* I shall cease blogging now lah. Oh we got free milo today at the open house =) As usual. Had 4 cups. Yay. The milo was really nice ^_^

Hoho! I have finished my maths homework.. (why anyone would want to illustrate answers with a goddamn number line, I have no idea. Like, we just want the answer right?) It is still rather simple. Of course, the syllabus feeds you easy questions and waits until you think you're brimming with confidence about the topics and then cannonballs you with this truckload (speaking of truckload, Nicky you owe me TRUCKLOADS of tissue paper. I am NOT lending you tissue tomorrow) of impossibly tough questions and then when you are confused and depressed and suicial and breaking down it stands in the corner laughing to itself evilly

Eric Tay seems pretty nice; Lay Jia was like telling him his voice very cute. [...] He sounds like he's speaking through his nose though. Very nasal. =S

My band 1 english teacher is so Mrs Chu!!

Ms Angeline Heng even kinda resembles Mrs Chu. 10 years ago. The stuff she wants us to do reek SO MUCH of Mrs Chu, Sankari and I suspect that they're actually related. Or I bet they would hit it off the moment they meet. Like, "oooh, my class gave me answers like the earth rotates from north to south! it is despairing!" "really? i'm outraged! let's go think of some more ways to make their lives miserable!" *walks off hand in hand*

I never thought I would have to read Readers' Digest (unless voluntarily) again. And she wants us to, like, reflect on the articles we've read once a week?? It's so Mrs Chu forcing us to pick an article and present it orally in front of the class, with the vocabulary and beautiful phrases high-lighted and taken note of.

And it's clear: she is a very very strict marker. She claims (and I believe) that no one has ever gotten more than an A2 in her class. She listed out her expectations of us bit by bit on the whiteboard.. She wants full marks for summary!! That is IMPOSSIBLE. My summary SUCKS. And she says there is absolutely NO LIFTING allowed in sumarry, or she will deduct marks from the language section. I am DEAD. I ALWAYS LIFT. T______T

Plus, some very interesting people SABO-ED ME. Great, being the English rep. Have to collect papers from 3 classes. *snarls*

KIANG WEE, COME BACK!!!!!! WE NEED YOU!!!!!!!!! Our new A and E Maths teacher is this WEIRD OLD GUY called Mr Wong.. I have NEVER heard, nor seen, him before in my 2 years in Anderson. HE SPEAKS LIKE HE HAS A PERPETUAL SORE THROAT. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT HE IS SAYING. How is it possible to COMPREHEND a subject like MATHS when I can't even understand his LANGUAGE? Oh my freaking GOD. Goodbye, possible chance of passing, goodbye.

And Eric Tay sucks. First HMT lesson of the year, and he gives us compo. Oh yeah, gives us compo when he wasn't even PRESENT. Hmph.

Elieen Chia seems. Ok. BUT. I have this tendency to focus on her grammar mistakes rather than what she's supposed to be teaching us. HONEST. I can't help it!! Her grammar is LOUSY! And you know I have this thing with incorrect english -_______-''

And I got Ms Lee for Lit. JUST NOT THE ONE I WANT!!!!! WAH!!!!!!!!! I want LEE MIN ER!!!!!!!! T____________T

Rubbish. I am not a rebel! I am a guai kia! I did EVERYTHING I was supposed to do and hand up tomorrow! My 2 netball bookmarks and that stupid reflection worksheet (which I remembered only at 9pm). =D So guai me. And I even looked (ok, tried, but still) at my maths. Soon I'll be revising from 3pm to 6pm.

Yuck.

Lingga says @#%$! at 9:21 PM

See, yesterday I was moving the stupid fan closer to me so I could get more wind from it, and I stabbed my toe into the stand. It started to BLEED. I was bleeding from the TOE. Ewww. There was this small layer of skin that came off and was hanging from the wound, where blood was flowing, so I stuffed my toe into this wad of tissue paper. Soon after the blood clotted and there's this dark red patch like 0.01mm away from my nail?

Imagine if I'd kicked my NAIL instead. My nails are perilously coming close to DROPPING OUT because of all the sudden stopping in netball, and my nails ram into the inside of my shoe. And I absolutely HATE cutting my toenails.

I fully took out my Sec 3 books just now! I wrote my name and register number in them =) I even wanted to read, ok! But I don't have my Bio textbook with me because I haven't gotten it yet, nor my E Maths, nor my Chem textbook, and I only have Geog, HMT (nobody reads HMT chapters beforehand one lor!), SS (and nobody studies SS in the hols either) and A Maths textbooks. I really OPENED up the A Maths textbook!! And started reading about indexes and longarith-wadever-it-is. I read for maybe 10 seconds. Because I didn't understand ANYTHING in there. Seriously. I was like trying to comprehend GREEK. I can so tell I'm dead!!

And will my mom just STOP insisting I SPOILED THE REMOTE? It's a $12.90 remote. It doesn't LAST. And it was an accident. I put it on the table but it fell because I didn't put it properly. Like how was I supposed to know? It's not like I purposely throw the remote on the ground and go DIE REMOTE DIE and stamp on it. And don't tell me I was the only person to drop the remote ever. And THEN she starts branching out into our PAST remotes "wah 70 kuai de ni dou you ban fa nong huai" (even 70 dollar remotes can be ruined by you). AHHHHHHHH!!!! Whatever you say.

Tomorrow must wake up early again!!! T____________T

Naive again!!!

I dowan go back to schooooooooool. =(( I still don't like 3/4 very much. Because 3/4 isn't 2/7. I also understand that I've only known 3/4 for 4 days and it is totally impossible for us all to get all high when we see each other and go HEY MAN! and start doing the chiwawa dance or whatever. And I don't want to start doing homework again! And netball tournament starts in the 3rd week. And there's a Deyi friendly match next Tue, with this 177cm tall shooter, and I will surely be playing because I am the tallest defender?!!

But this is LIFE. And we can't change life.

yesterday was kinda the "first day of school" for all sec 3 andersonians lah. hmm, met up with shunwei, xinyi and wen at amk station. lijie had taken the same train as me. she was terribly late for the meeting with the 3 of them ^____^ me clever, don't make empty promises. i just said i'd try to make it, if can meet then meet. heh heh. so it was lijie who got lambasted. =D

felt so weird to not climb the stairs anymore!! oh, rejoice. felt even weirder to walk into the temp block. because, you know, lingga is now "officially part of the upper sec". unbelievable!! lingga is a sec 3!!

so scaryy. i see guys in long pants all around me. all the 2/7 guys in pants!!! so freaky!!! and the pants, being new, were so white. and crisp. everyone was blinding and crispy. the guys seemed taller and more mature. until they move anyway. then you can still see nicky POKING US IN HAPPINESS. and dev POUTING LIKE A CARTOON BEAR. leroy is DA HUA! because he's the only guy who followed lijie and wen into 3/7. and so they had to stick together first before slowly branching out. leroy's hair, by the way, looks even weirder than last year. the ridges on top of a curry puff seem to have stood up taller. jeremy is still wearing a singlet -_____-''

ru said synny CONVERTED!! TO CHRISTIANITY!! what if he picked the same church yixuan goes to?! yixuan will FREAK. and he looks much much much better now that he's lost the tight shirt and shorts. and we all complimented him on his hair which was combed differently. ^^||

there was a concert by the swim shadies! they are team singapore swimmers. i read about them in 8 Days, how i got my bod. =) they're a pretty nice band with pretty nice songs! gary tan has a nice voice.

my contact lenses were giving me crap throughout the day. eyes hurt! while we did our routine compound jog in netball, i had to squeeze my eyes till they were a crack because they hurt if i moved my eyes around too much. we got so many sec 1s wanting to join! so exciting! there's one 177cm tall one. [.......] see lah, say i tall. rubbish.

Lingga says @#%$! at 5:19 PM

i knew i loved you by savage garden is so nice! i guess i must thank milton for bringing this song to my attention by telling me it was nice and letting me listen to it. even though of course after like 20 seconds he said it was enough and skipped song. [...]

the song doesn't suit my layout too much. unlike never be replaced. hmmm. i think i'll switch back to never be replaced after a while. unless i find more suitable songs. =)

warning: very very VERY long entry ahead.

first day of camp

(point of information: the night before camp i went to bed at 10.20pm, but was tossing and turning until 2am+, smsing jia wang, thinking i was the only idiot not asleep while the rest were in dreamland to get themselves fresh and excited for the adventure camp, and i was panicking about not getting enough rest and all. then finally i drifted off for 4 hrs of sleep and woke up. ok end of point)

woke up earlier than 6am? i was SO not sleepy then. actually i was excited because my mom was going to drive me to school. the first EVER time in my entire life. however, the car refused to start up. seriously. i was getting close to freaking out, because it was 6.45am, and i wouldn't have enough time to take the train, and i didnt want to go to school in a taxi. finally my mom discovered she hadn't set the gear to PARKING properly last night or whatever (not that i understand) but she got the car working in the end. ooohh! *whimpers in EXCITEMENT like NICKY*

the first ever time i take a car to school, and God gives me bad traffic. traffic was unbelievable!!! it took forever to make that one TURN into school zone. we waited through like 6 red lights? when we finally MADE that TURN, i was all "oh my god we're finally here i'm gonna cry". then i went into the canteen and everyone was there screaming at each other in EXCITEMENT and sharing stories about how they didn't get to sleep until 3am/didn't sleep at all and stuff. God, if only i'd known, i would have called for a mass conference on msn!!! then i wouldn't have needed to endure 3 whole hours of tossing around, bored to tears.

got into our lines in our new classes in the hall, then sat down. (rama's sleeping bag is really long lor) CALVIN ISMAIL IS OUR (3/4) FORM TEACHER!!! everyone was all AHHHHHHHHH. 3/2 got lim kiang wee! qiddy must be pouting right now as she reads? =D and 3/6 got mrs lim -______-'' and then we heard about poor jasima jahan who lost her life in the tsunami incident. i found out from qid's blog that she was a netballer! i think she must have been one of the few who attended practice like 3 times in a year.

boarded our respective buses. our bus got lost!! made like 3 wrong turns -_____-'' we were one of the last classes in the camp. the class split into 2 teams, funky fungi (which i was in) and chestnut mosquito [...]. we found out there are only 8 guys in 3/4!! and i thought 2/7 was pathetic!!! -_______-''

funky fungi did general station; teambuilding activities lah. everyone had to get over this high wall. the guys were pretty cool about letting the girls all step on their hands and boosting us up. nicky and michael (who looks damn like a monkey) had honours being the first. we completed the activity twice, second time in like 3 mins =D then we did the one where everyone had to step on the log, grab on to the rope and swing to the other side, one by one. people on the other side who were to catch the swinger kept getting kicked accidentally by said swinger -____-'' it was quite fun swinging through in that 3 seconds =D

then it was LUNCH. (hungry hungry *clap clap* thirsty thirsty *clap clap*) we sat at the canteen tables and awaited food. we were given all these nice looking and funky squarish plates and utensils. nicky, jia, me and dev were discussing enthusiastically about how funky the plates were. after we had our meal then did we realise we (read, 350 students) had to wash our own plates and utensils in 2 basins of soapy water, then rinse the plates in another 2 basins of clear water. we had to line up, and only had less than 10 seconds to scrub the plates with the sponges. the water was covered with a suspiciously full amount of soap foam.. we deduced that it was to prevent us from seeing the bottom of the basins (which i TOUCHED a few times while washing my plate, and i touched RICE AND OTHER UNIDENTIFIED FOOD SUBSTANCES) and flipping out. anyway, i had barely scrubbed my plate when one of the instrcutors overseeing us went "that's enough, girl" and chased us all away for the next people in line!! i didn't even had a chance to scrub my utensils and cup!! GROSS!!

we really didn't think of the plates as funky anymore.

then we did rock climbing. however, there wasn't enough time (and it started to rain) for everyone to try, so only like 6 people managed to get up? i had already strapped on my harness and helmet! then there was this woman instructor majorly obsessed with her ROPES "DON'T STEP ON MY ROPES. STAY AWAY FROM MY ROPES. DON'T STEP ON IT OR I WILL DEDUCT YOUR POINTS". it was like mdm lim completely devoid of her good points.

next we did more team building! i hate concentration games -_______-'' i suck really bad at these types. and there was the activity with passing the rope all around the circle we formed holding hands. everyone was wriggling their bodies. erm.

next it was the ropes course. you know, all those walking on tightropes thingys, climbing ropes 10m above the ground, etc? i did the first one and also the easiest =DD it was quite simple lah. but quite an experience =D

anyway, soon it was time for dinner. we were REALLY dreading dinner. or rather, the utensils and plates we had to use. we don't get back the same plates and utensils we've used before, so there is no knowing of whether the previous occupant had managed to do a decent job of washing. someone wiped a fork on their pe t-shirt. the shirt turned black. there were gravy stains from lunch on my plate. i had no choice but to use my pe shirt to wipe the stains as my tissue paper was in my bag in the dorm T_T BLEARGH.

songs session! the instructors were damn cool and effervescent. it kinda got us all in the spirit. =D i like the bananas and the funky chicken/funky duck/geylang chick/changi duck dance!!! however, we got really really REALLY sick of sitting on the floor and numbing our butts. plus, the floor was really dirty from all the stepping in from the rain. *shudder*

FINALLY, we got to leave the floor for our night walk!! my gosh, everyone was totally freaked out when they heard they had to go SOLO for a part. we had to go through this part of forest leading to bukit timah hill. it was terrifyingly dark -__-'' THANK GOD there wasn't enough time so we had to go in groups after all! =DDDDD there were instructors sitting in parts of the trail we had to walk through, half hidden in the dark, who would ask us what our trek numbers were. we were STUNNED by the first one we saw. see, we were told to look out for your surroundings and observe, and i was trying to do that in the dark while gripping jia's hand, and i saw all these big leafs from the trees, and then my eyes fell on this figure that didn't seem like a leaf at all. THE POSITION THAT INSTRUCTOR WAS SITTING IN WAS FREAKY!!! he had his face pointed downwards, a cap casting a shadow over his face, and then he asked us the question without even looking up! =S

the walk ended soon enough, and we had to sit in this big clearing waiting for the rest. it was all totally pointless i think =.= everyone was just dying to get back to SHOWER. when we got back to camp, to our envy we found that the other half of the cohort (who did the night walk first followed by songs session) had already BATHED and were walking around camp for supper!!!! we couldn't leave for showers yet as we had to have a debrief first -__________-'' nobody had a pen and those who had to wait for a pen (like me) couldn't leave before finishing the pages in the camp booklet our instructor, Mai, said we were supposed to do. WAHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

jia and i had to wash our hair in the guys' bathroom's sinks. the guys shared another bunk on the other side of the camp, separated by the canteen, so the guys' toilet was free for use. i don't understand why they don't just build 2 female toilets in each bunk instead of one female and one male. the guys who were sharing the bunks at the other side had 1 male and 1 female too. [...] anyway, the guys' only had ONE BIG SHOWERING CUBICLE! without doors!! anyone could just walk to the back and be all "er. you're showering?" everyone had to shower together!! there were 4 "stations" like this:

opening
| |
| |

in that one big cubicle. but there's no door!!! god!!! how do the guys live!!! do they chat about their bodies while showering?? why can't they just build cubicles?? or at least give the cubicle a DOOR!! (i am traumatised as i had to bathe in there the second night and there was this weird GIRL drying her hair with a towel staring into the cubicle, but i already had my underwear on, thank god, but it was still damn EERIE, why would she want to STARE into the cubicle??)

the thing is, before i even had a chance to shower (in fact, jia and i were the next to go!) when the instructors came in and yelled lights out, slapped off all the lights and chased us all out. T_______________T audrey, jia, tammy, caroline and i had to sneak back to the bathrooms to shower at 1am.

and there were FROGS in our dorm. GOD. when we got chased back into the dorm by the instructors, someone was already shrieking about the frog. i wasn't even mildly interested because it was just a frog, what! anyway, the instructor chased it out and everyone kinda settled down. however, after like 20 mins, someone was rummaging through her bag and another frog leaped out! she screamed so loud i think everyone within a 2km radius heard her (everyone seemed to hear it when we asked the next day). surprisingly, no instructor came bursting in, and the frog disappeared, and layjia went to poke around, and then it was ANOTHER scream as she found it, and they chased it into the staircase landing leading up to the second floor of the dorm, and covered the cracks under the door with plastic bag. -______-'' since the second floor door was locked by the malay girls, the poor little frog had to hop around in the landing, i think. i mean, it's just a frog!! not a flying cockroach!! it eats insects (by the way, the bathrooms were an insect CEMETERY)! (right?)

the conditions of the dorm were much better than i'd expected. we were still roughing it out in our sleeping bags (my body tested out the hardness of the floor and reported it to me throughout the night). and it became awfully cold around 3am. i don't even know if i'd slept. i seemed to be just drifting in and out of sleep at times, with jia's pe shirt draped over my legs and audrey's jacket (which i dug out of the makeshift bolster they let me make with their jackets) around my upper half body.

second day of camp

someone woke us all up at 5am+ -________-''our bunk was one of the earliest risers. this time i was prepared for breakfast. my tissue paper packet was finished up by the time it ended.

nature walk next!! it was surprisingly fun =) we had a very fun guide, joseph! he shared with us interesting stories when we had climbed to the summit of bukit timah hill. i think it would rock to have him as a dad.

hiking is TOUGH. nicky kept hitting his head on branches jutting out in our paths. jia who was walking in front of him didn't have to duck, and since everyone was looking at the ground and the feet of the person in front of us to find proper places to rest our feet, no one looked up, and nicky would hit his head. me, me lucky, me walk behind nicky, nicky hit head me no need =D we saw a lot of spiders. erm. and squirrels!! =D cute itsy squirrels awwww. rain made the ground muddy, but we were lucky to be hiking on the second day where the ground had the whole night to dry. (3/6 and 3/7 had to hike the previous day when it was drizzling. tsk tsk. i saw jenna's brown track pants and shoes) we were all tired out from all the steep walking, and we kept seeing all those energized uncles and aunties with that stick (the trademark of all hikers) to test ground firmness strolling past us, hardly even sweating. [...] so ashamed of ourselves. did you know there's a fern named after singapore?? (not that i can recognise it if i see again, but at least we learnt something ^^)

the summit was very relaxing. we sat on the ground while joseph shared with us stories. =D we hiked around 6km in all. but it seemed much longer because of all the steep climbing! (weeeeee beautiful leg muscles)

lunch and then it was flying fox!! i was looking forward to it throughout camp. but sadly it wasn't as exciting as i'd expected! the in-charge of the flying fox was a total ass. -____-'' people were going "WHEEEEEEE SO FUN I FELT LIKE FLYING LEMME GO AGAIN!!!!" and i was all "the stupid harness very pain leh keep cutting into my butt" nicky and jia thought so too! we are too used to thrills le lah. =D

next was abseiling. honestly i do NOT want to try abseiling. leaning back into thin air 5 storeys above the ground? no can do. everyone was sitting there and praying "rain rain rain". all the people who had done the flying fox were so HAPPY because those who hadn't done the flying fox (not enough time) had first priority. HAHAHA =DD anyway, it really did rain after a while and everyone went back to prepare for campfire.

i HATE coming up for ideas for the items we were supposed to perform! we had like 10 minutes to rehearse our item? and then throughout dinner everyone was shoving down their food so we could do some PRACTISING, but to no avail because we still had to dress amy up as mother nature as our team mascot -_______-'' and amy the mascot went really well, but the instructors didn't have the mascot compeition in the end, and it was all for nothing, the beautiful art on her face nasihah drew, and the hair they combed painstakingly for her. T______T our campfire item, well, went really badly. 3/5 put up a real kewl item! they did the banana song we learnt for the first cheer the were doing, and it goes like this:

peek in through the window
what do people see
if you wanna chap kim chap
do the proper way
meet me tonight by the moonlight
meet me tonight all alone
i have got something to show you
something that's yellow and long!

so it's really a banana lah, the yellow and long thing, (not anything else you were thinking about) and then you go "1 banana 2 bananas 3 bananas 4, 5 bananas 6 bananas many many more!" but instead of clapping their hands to the beat, they swung their arms backwards and thrust their pelvis forward!! my god, ananda was in this real PROMINENT position, and he was totally swinging his arms and thrusting his pelvis!! everyone went wild and started to wolf whistle and stuff! it was hilarious!!

k, then it was debrief and supper. this time, i grabbed the pens mai was lending out and scribbled my reflections quickly because i wanted to shower first!! too late because the 3/8 girls had already invaded our bunk bathrooms, and we had to wait anyway. yuck, went through the ritual of washing hair in sink and all that again. gross-ness, someone left their yellow panties in the cubicle.

then it was back to the dorm and we were quite early! yay! however, tried to settle down to bed and couldn't because jody and the rest were making so much noise playing cards, and the malay girls upstairs were giggling, and i was thinking if i should yell at them to all shut up, but didn't in the end and lay there listening to ALL their conversations, and then i fell asleep just like that. next thing i knew it was 6am and THE LAST DAY OF CAMP YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

last day of camp (finally!!)

did morning abulation in the bathroom for the LAST TIME. THANKFULLY. used those stinking plates and utensils for the LAST TIME. we had to clean up the canteen though. used lots of water -______-'' on the floor (it so totally NEEDED the water to wash out all those yucky THINGS on the ground that people were bringing in via their shoes)

oh god, GOT BACK OUR HANDPHONES FINALLY ON THE BUS HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I MISSED MY HP SO MUCH!!!!!!!!! i should have just pretended not to have a handphone and not handed it in!! and then the thing was i'd forgotten to bring my keys!! so it's not like i could go home after all!!! T____________T ate lunch with lijie, shunwei, xinyi, jia and wen at amk central. 2/7!! more people said i looked like a eurasian. really meh?? i honestly don't think so.

then after that went to camp at wen's house while waiting for my mom to go home so i could go home finally. WATCHED WONDER WOMAN!? oh my god! so scary!!

ok i shall end here because i have been blogging for 2 hrs and nicky is getting impatient!!! more about my "first" day of school later =)

Tomorrow school reopens and I am off to camp! With the cows o.O I don't like my sleeping bag. It's so uncomfortable. I might as well sleep on the floor. Hmph. I hope they let us choose the people we get to sleep with. If it's by register number. It might be a bit sad.

And do you know the Sec 2s and Sec 1s of 2005 get the new building? The orange and red one? At first I was envious of them because they didn't have to rough it out in the old building with spoiled PAs and dangling speakers, unlike us, but then I realise I may be better off in the temp block. Where there is air con. And on the ground floor. And in the temp block I can keep my eyesight as there is no orange. They, on the other hand, get to develop beautiful leg muscles climbing up 4 flights of stairs every single day. Ha! No more, I tell you. The leg muscles in my legs are beautiful enough.

And the guys'll be getting long pants!!! I cannot believe this. Syn Yeow can finally hide his leg mane.

I haven't packed my bag though. Ermmmm. My mom's driving me tomorrow. I CAN WAKE UP 15 MINS LATER BAHAHAHAHAA but I'm going to have to go to school normally after that. =*(

HELLO PEOPLE! This is my first blog entry of the year 2005! May I also remind everyone else that school starts in 2 days!

I bought Teen Idol FINALLY =DDDDDD I actually forgot about it. I got home at 10+ last night. Family went to Causeway Point for dinner. We were actually supposed to eat seafood at some joint in Sembawang, supposedly famous, but not so famous that no one knew that it had packed up and moved for new food courts to take its place. I think we went up and down those stretches of roads at least 4 times, searching for the non-existent restaurant. Then we wanted to go to another seafood restaurant but my dad pooh-poohed the idea upon seeing no one in it. This is how restaurants go bust (they should just pay people to sit in it and look happy eating food or whatever).

Finally we decided on Causeway Point. Parking was hideous. My mom almost had a coronary when she saw the seas of cars all waiting for entrance into the multi-storey carpark. Worried about our car getting scratches or colliding into some other cars.

If someone is involved in something very tense and that requires their full concentration or they might risk some really serious consequences, it is probably not a good idea to keep saying "OOH! THE BEND!" or "HEY CAREFUL ABOUT THE PEDESTRIAN" out of a sudden. My sis can fully relate to this. My parents need to learn to control their urges to warn my sis of danger. It's not like she got that driving license out of the dustbin or something. Me, sitting in the backseat, felt so sorry for my sis for having the daylights freaked out of her when my dad kept shouting out warnings (and he doesn't even have a license). One thing's for sure, when I learn how to drive, I'm not having my parents with me.

Anyway, I got Teen Idol at Popular *swoons* After I returned home I immediately bathed and went online, so I forgot all about it until like 1am! *strokes book which has been my heart's desire since 2 months ago tenderly* I'm only halfway through. Hmmm.

I hereby end my first blog entry of 2005, and shall remind everyone that school begins in 2 days. Happy 2005 everyone.
