I think no one else but me can get a cold just by being in the sun and then going into aircon at VivoCity in a day.

Miserable existence -.-

Anyway, yesterday Sasa Jia Wen and I went to Sentosa to tan. Tan my ass. I barely changed colour. Instead, I got sunburnt on the front of my chest under my neck because for all the multiple times I applied sunblock on, I forgot to apply it there -.- And Sasa missed some spots on my right shoulder/back when she helped me put on sunblock so I got sunburnt in random areas, too. Haha attractive isn't it.

As usual, Vanessa Liu Xinying managed to be late for the meeting at 9am at YCK MRT. Despite me calling her at 7.51am, at which she assured me she was getting up because "it's almost time for me to get up", and living in YCK about a 10min bus ride from the station, she managed to be 35 mins late -.- Apparently the story was that she went back to sleep after I called her, woke up at 8.50am, just missed the bus, and so had to wait until the next one came which took some time. But this time round she is already considered early. If you search in my archives I remember one particularly memorable incident when we were to meet at 9am at Harbourfront MRT, and at 9.15am I called her and she wasn't even awake yet. Sasa, you are really dead pro. And I don't know why we never get mad at you for it at all. :D

After a morning of floating in the water and doing really, really, really stupid things in it ("Lonely... Without my body... I have no body... only my head! WOO-WAA"), we broke for lunch of, as per tradition, 3 packets of beehoon and 1 packet of mee. Jia even brought dessert! Banana monkey nut muffin and peppermint chocolate muffin which tasted SUPER GOOD. From some neighbourhood bakery opposite the old yishun library. OMG, I HATE THE NEW ONE ON TOP OF THE NEW EXTENSION AT NORTHPOINT. IT IS PACKED WITH CRAZY SCREAMING KIDS WHO RUN WILD WHILE THEIR PARENTS TALK TO ONE ANOTHER AT THE TOP OF THEIR VOICES. IT IS NOT A BLOODY CHILDCARE CENTRE. Sasa brought Digestive biscuits (Jia and Wen claim they help you shit. I really never ever knew Digestive biscuits helped in digestion) which were lao hong, and Pringles, which were promptly finished by the trio (I couldn't eat them as I was nursing a sore throat, courtesy of my own stupidity, more later) before 11am hahaha.

We also took a lot of unintentionally funny photos, esp the jumpshots -.- Will post them in a week or so when Sasa comes back from her Geog trip to NZ with her school!

More prom dress shopping at Vivo after the beach. A LOT OF DRESSES. But none which really caught my eye. I saw a few halterneck dresses, but they were all so bloody short. Except for one at m)phosis which was quite nice, but made me look super well-endowed, and that is just weird. Plus, it was $74 -.- The idea of wearing the old one I got is becoming increasingly appealing (EIGHTYNINE DOLLARS!!!). I mean, who will remember what I wore? I'll just hoard the Sec 4 prom pics and never post them again. Nyaha. And I even have correct accessories already. But no lah I won't be lazy I will get new accessories :)

Jia got her super nice one-shoulder dress at Forever 21 for less than 50! I am so freaking jealous because I would have tried it on if it weren't too bloody short for me -.- Seriously, for the first time in my life I wondered if maybe being taller than everyone else isn't such a good thing (but then I realised how stupid that idea is because prom is one night but the superiority of being tall is forever hahaha). Wenwen is still fretting over the vest and shirt and pants ensemble. I get a headache just trying to give her advice on what type of stuff to get, so I imagine the pain would be amplified 10x in her head because she's the one who actually has to GET DOWN to buying the stuff.

Anyway, I was supposed to be shopping with Jin Ning at Far East and then Marina Square today one, but because of the crazy shit cold I developed yesterday afternoon, and the extremely miserable night I spent trying to sleep on one side to help my stuffy nose, I am not in prime shopping condition now. So I cancelled the shopping date and am at home whiling away my time with the second-hand childhood books I got at Queensway Shopping Centre with Sok Mui on Saturday, my sister's latest edition of USA-imported Cosmo which is $11/copy and mailed straight to my house, and the movies recorded on HBO via Hubstation the past week. You know today's the first day I'm not going out since the 19th? It's only been like less than a week since my As ended, and I feel like it's been weeks of all these shopping and mall-hopping. Jia and I were discussing about the dire mental state our brains have been left in, completely incapable of any thought deeper than "what if I get weird tanline at Sentosa! Then what, invest in self-tanner issit". Urgh.

Anyway speaking of Queensway Sok Mui and I went to get shoes right, and she bought her dark purple and white Nikes (WOOH SOK MUI! FIRST PAIR OF SHOES WHICH ARE YOUR OWN! NO LONGER WHITE AND DARK BLUE AND YOUR BROTHER'S! WOOHOO!). I didn't manage to get what I wanted because it was probably an old model and there were only like size 6s left. Whatever, who can fit into a size 6? On the other hand, another pair which caught my eye costs $150 after discount and I don't think it's justified to blow so much money on the shoes, since I'm not playing competitively anymore. Gah. ON THE OTHER HAND, we came across this secondhand book makeshift stall at one of the entrances of the mall, and they sold like SWEET VALLEY HIGH/TWINS/UNIVERSITY and CHRISTOPHER PIKE and FULL HOUSE STEPHANIE! Which I super duper loved when I was younger. And still read now by the way, the books I bought then. I was SO SO SO excited. I thought I'd never ever read another Christopher Pike ever again T_T So I bought like 11 books or something and it was only like 9 dollars overall or whatever. Fantastic. I love you, woman who is selling secondhand books at Queensway, for giving me back some of my childhood :)

I AM BACK BLOGGING!

As Sasa kindly reminds me, it has been about 16 months since the previous time I blogged. About inane rubbish like spectacles if I seem to recall. Well, I am back blogging because after the As my days have been really packed (and luckily packed for the next week or so until 2 Dec which is PROM NIGHT) but during the nights, I AM LONELY :(

And bored. There's really nothing much to do online. I have played so much Sims and renovated so many houses that I have run out of wallpaper and furniture combinations. My Sims look increasingly alike (even though I managed to make a xiao niang re lookalike the other day, as I was telling Wen, but when I moved her into the neighbourhood I realised she was hideous, so I disposed of her) and I can't make more people because I have also run out of nice clothes for them to wear. TV is only entertaining (mildly) until 11pm (Forensic Heroes on Ch U XD). I keep going to failblog faster than they can update. Xiaxue is slow in updating. And so on. So I end up suffering from mild insomnia. SO SAD. And it's only been what, 2 days since my As ended? Zomg. How to tahan for the rest of the 2 months?

BUT OF COURSE, I'd rather have insomnia than relive my A level period. Although I really am quite sure I will not do fantastically for As, because I did not mug at all for any subject this time round, unlike for Os when I was fanatically mugging Bio and Chem, I still did suffer a fair bit in the process of trying to at least obtain decent enough grades to make it into Nanyang Business School. Not to mention the constant guilt trips I had to take whenever I watched movies saved with our HubStation (EH WE GOT CABLE 2 MONTHS AGO, 10 YEARS SLOWER THAN EVERYONE ELSE), or read a book, or played Diner Dash on my sister's PSP. It is SO FANTASTIC to realise that there is absolutely bloody NOTHING you have to worry about for the next 4 months. And no notes to read. And no stupid maths to do. Waaaaaaaaaaaaah :)

12 years of education ended with 19th Nov :D

I've been searching for my prom dress these 2 days. Yesterday I went out with the clique (minus Xinyun and Sok Mui, who pangsehed couldn't make it), trawling Far East and Heeren and Cineleisure for dresses, and Jess Cassandra Yip and Justyne all managed to find their dresses! Like zomg, because when I was shopping with Jin Ning and Amy 2 years ago I only got my dress like 3 days before the night itself! Enid and I didn't try on anything because we realised that the tall people like us and the shorter, smaller, cuter girls like them probably are searching for very different things. So I've made a date with Jin Ning next Tue to re-live our maniac shopping days (she is my best shopping partner :) Followed by Sok Mui) in our quest to find the PERFECT PROM DRESS!

I don't realy wanna wear my Sec 4 dress. Even though it cost $89 and I've only worn it once. Because I have my heart set on the perfect HALTERNECK DRESS! I swore I would wear one for Sec 4's grad night and I didn't. So this time round I must find it! 2 years ago there were BLOODY A LOT OF NICE HALTERNECK DRESSES, but perhaps they have gone out of fashion this year because I can find nary a decent-looking one around Orchard Road! Now all those kind of heart-shaped tube dresses and thick strapped babydoll dresses or bubblewrap dresses which are all SUPER CUTE and not as classy/glam as I would like. Plus, they're short and would look just wrong on me. =x Sorry lah I know this paragraph is frivolous like shit but like what I told Sok Mui, what else is there to waste our brain juice on now? All I can do is pray really hard that when I shop with Jin Ning I will STRIKE GOLD and we will both find classy, not-so-expensive dresses which will make us look fabulous :):):)

(what, I am still a girl lor)

I went back to Orchard today on a date with Jia Sasa and Wen. I love the 3 of them so much I never ever realised how much until JC you know :) Anyway in the morning, Jia and I met Wen (who was coming from school from her overnight stay (!!!) crazy ah I can't wait to get away from school and there she is staying overnight with her class on the day of her last paper!) and accompanied her to dye her hair at her regular salon. It came out GREAT lor. Even though I was really doubtful about the brightness of the red on the book. I post picture next time :) Now she cannot stare at people because when she does, HER RED HAIR (Sydney) JUMPS UP AND SCARES YOU x)

Then we went to Braddell where I got my hair cut by my trusty hairdresser. Whom I have not patronized in almost a year because I was too lazy to go all the way there to look for her. But seriously she is the best hairdresser I have been to. Although it is not hard to claim this honour, because I have only been to 3 different ones all my life (my mom cut my hair all the way up to Sec 1), and only one was passable while the other 2 were shit. REALLY SHIT. I have always been slightly disillusioned with hairdressers. It has been a love-hate relationship filled with uncertainty and fear since my first encounter with the middleaged woman who gave me Winter Sonata female lead hair when I was 14 and led me to distrust haidressers. Even my favourite hairdresser this time has bad days and is not exempt from cutting sucky hair (although I do admit when it looks much better when it grows out, as compared to the rest). She tends to only hear the word short when you mention it and nothing else. So I have learnt NEVER to mention that word when I meet her and only say things like "hou mian yao xiu yi xiu jiu gou le" or "jin liang bao chi chang du". This time round my hair turned out okay but I think it'll look great when it's growing out. So yay! Survived another trip to the hairdresser's! Because you know, I PRAY whenever I go to cut my hair okay, so that divine intervention will make my hair turn out alright. So it is a big thing for me. :)

Then went off to Orchard again to shop for dresses, because Melissa told me on msn last night that she saw nice halterneck dresses at Isetan Orchard. I didn't find them -.- but I tried a few on, and nothing really wowed me, so I'm still looking. Tomorrow I'm going with Sok Mui to Queensway to buy running shoes. And maybe stop by Ikea so I can look at bookshelves. I wanna buy a proper bookcase to contain my books which are getting quite dusty sitting in open hair like they currently are. And then after that, maybe head to Causeway to look at MORE dresses in Metro.

I think I'll go think up a list of Things I Never Expected To Do So Soon But Have Done In 2008 so I can blog about it tomorrow :)
