Ok, must blog, too many days never blog.
Friday
Andnovation (stupid name, really) Carnival preperations! Our dustpan was looking worse for the wear (after enduring that massive step by Syn Yeow the macho man) and, to be honet, really ugly.
Oh yes, before I forget, the theme of the carnival was purple and yellow. (-______-) Like, purple and yellow?? *gestures wildly* WHY??
We started decorating the stall with the balloons and materials they gave us. Silver and metallic purple balloons. The yellow and silver paper we used as forms of stars hanging from the poles, and also used some light yellow to wrap the poles. We pasted strips of purple cellophone paper hanging from the top pole. It looked good man, the stall. Rather a kampongish feeling.
Sasa and Nicky went to paint the dustpan (they actually bought oil based paint instead of botles of acrylic with me and jia's money.) in the hall. They bought yellow and red paint, but couldnt use the yellow because after using the red, they didnt have thinner and thus couldnt dip the paint brush into the yellow. Thus it became orange. The end product looked like a toy car.
Saturday
Big day? Everyone was totally panicky in the hall because our stall wasnt ready yet. The teachers (esp Mdm Has) did nothing to help except stand on the stage and scream "LOOK AT THE TIME! IT'S GOING TO BE 8.30 ALREADY! YOU HAVE TO STOP WORK AT 8.30AM!" every 10 seconds.
Our stall was nice, but the table top just wasnt attractive enough. All we did was to put pieces of paper explaining our product on it, and the title (even though it was wrapped in aluminium foil and the letters DUSTY were pasted on it) didnt seem striking enough. Plus it didnt help that our product was totally ugly man. People who walked past thought it was a dustbin (in a way, it IS) and threw sweet wrappers into it.
I think the judges who came by our stall liked the product after we explained it to them, but then again, what bout the OTHER judges? The ones who came were less than the ones who didnt, and the ones who were impressed were the ones who came. Seriously, our product is a good product. The idea totally rocks, and man, if we had a chance to like talk about it in the hall, I bet we would have won hands down (ok, maybe an exaggeration. But I still think our product was the best).
My legs totally hurt from standing up all the time and talking to the judges. Plus it was really irritating to have 2 or 3 of your group memebers disappear every 10 minutes. (.....)
Went down to take a look at Andersonian Idol (lameo peeps behind the stage right?) held in the canteen.. Man, totally depressing. The stage was
ugly and the banners behind were totally hideous. Plus, almost everyone sounded off key because of the lousy sound system. The mood was totally dead. Except when the people cheered.
End of carn (finally). Wanted to bring home a balloon or two to play with, but irritating people ran around me trying to burst them. I was totally pissed off at the end of the day and really angry. Especially outside the hall. I wanted to hit out at the people, but I kept my anger down. The only time I lost it was when Lijie tossed my 3 balloons at Abel to burst (yes, Abel the person who was in love with our dustpan, and brought it out to play) and I was so mad I hit her and snapped our signboard into 2.
At home, me watched BRING IT ON! WOOHOO!!!!!!!!! Faris was right, it was a great CD man. I cant say much about the plot, but the cheerleading routines they did were FABULOUS. Mmmmmmmm. Amazing sia.
